We've come up with this explanation several times before, CS07...

OK, first you upload your image, and then in Preview Post [you will need to have clicked on the Go Advanced rather than the Post Reply button] you double click on your image. This will bring up a few options on image size. You can experiment with them all until you are happy, by clicking Preview Post to test it. If the image isn't huge in the first place, just choose full-size and then click on Submit Reply.

You can always go back and edit your post later if you've made a glaring error.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thinking about it, we get so many posters on here who aren't quite sure of what they should do, that it wouldn't hurt to have a Instructions On How To Use The Forum permanent thread. Especially as we're bound to get many new members now.

What we really want to know is, what will Dave Merrington do to his name? I reckon ManYOOkah (although, Mayuka might work in geordie).

Sorry to correct you, but Jaidi was sent to East Africa. North and West Africa are pretty much tied to French clubs and it was thought that looking at Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania - English speaking countries. I recall Saints said felt this was an area untapped by Europe.

Some sources I've seen have Zambia down as East Africa, others as Southern Africa. Anyway, Zambia has often been a hotbed of talent, it was just unfortunate for them that they lost an entire generation of players in the 1993 plane crash. I hope that we start to pick up a following in that part of the world now, though.

dont want to start a race war here but just a small point. Africans do add that physical strength to a side but for me have always suffered from lack of teamwork. I think it was Pele that said by the year 2000 an African team would have won the world cup. Before 2000 many African countries have produced good players but poor teams, Mayuka seems very team oriented and I would welcome any signings from Africa as the players coming from there really are a joy to watch. Mayuka will have to teach Rickie his goal celebration

If that is the type of comment that causes a 'race row,' I sigh for the world we now live in.

On this signing though, found this on the comment section of the Sky Sports article saying we signed him:

"Am now getting a Saint's jersey. Viva Sotho. You will not regret on this acqusition."

So that's at least one product of merchandise to our African friends!

They'll have trouble. Last time I checked you could only buy a saints shirt from the megastore or the West quay store...

Zambia is between Tanzania, DR Congo, Malawi, Mozambique. Angola, Botswana, Namibia and Zimbabwe. South-Central really. Zambia is quickly growing economically and as such is probably a worthwhile place to be scouting for talent as kids are more likey to play/watch football than they would do in less prosperous and stable countries. Zambia is a former British colony, so the French haven't monopolised the talent of which there is plenty.

Immigration law won't let us simply take who we want, so we'll have to take football to Africa. Exciting stuff!

Back to Saints though, hopefully this Manyuka lad has the pace and the ability to be a winger and leg it into the box when we want another striker. He's shown he knows where the onion bag is for sure. We've done well to get the deal done at a reasonable price and fight off QPR for his signature.

Not an unfair comment. Africa has produced some fantastic players. Africa is a huge continent, in area, population and cultural diversity. One country on it's own doesn't have the diversity to arrange a perfect team with the perfect balance of talent, teamwork, physicality and temperament. It just can't be done.

Think Lambert would risk breaking hhis neck if he tried to do flips!
