Fair point. Let's hope that he's the start of a wider scouting philosophy. There's a heck of a lot of untapped talent about the place.

Oh, definitely. Mostly due to the lack of decent clubs in many African countries.

That's a rather sweeping statement. What exactly is your definition of a decent club?

Well there are very few African clubs that are able to compete with the biggest clubs in the world (mainly from Europe and a few from South America)

A club that can develop a decent youth set up - enough to scour the lands of Africa and pick up young talent, whilst providing them with education and a wage to survive on whilst they are scholars.

He's the only person I've actually seen calling it, too. If Ramirez comes off, it's even more plus points to him, he's the only journalist who has remained confident the whole way. He's a bit of an attention seeker but as for information, can't really complain.

At this point, I'd go as far as to say that he's the only journalist who seems to have a legitimate source at the club; he's been right several times, enough that it's doubful that he's gleaning it from second-hand sources or the opposing number in transfer talks, and as you say he has stood his ground when pressed. He does the 'I know something you don't know' act a bit too often, but I don't think that there's anyone more credible on Saints transfers.

This is a great signing. I take it he'll play wide left since LS and LW are his preferred positions . Thank god I don't have to watch Rodriguez playing there for much longer

Little piece on Sky...mentions his golden boot and how he helped Zambia win the African Cup of Nations. Looks very strong....you wouldn't knock him over in a hurry.

I am beginning to wonder if coming on here can damage your sanity. We have certainly acquired a fair few idiot posters of late.

Then in accordance with the rule that footballers are known by a nickname from now on I expect to hear him called Manny and we had one of those before and he was quite good.
