Yep, Steve Mackenzie cost a fair bit too, didn't he? Scored a cracker in the replay that's for sure. Two of the greatest Cup Final goals ever, and both in the same match ... spooky.
I think that people have a slightly distorted view of how Stoke play nowdays. Pulis has added some skill and artistry to the side in the past couple of seasons and he adjusts the team and tactics to his opposition. They can play two wingers and attack against some sides, but they'd have been slaughtered doing it against us. Don't get annoyed with the club or the fans. They weren't to blame for the officiating on Sunday. Liverpool had to resort to similar tactics, but the ref got it right that day and Dalglish had nothing to upset our defence, either.
I read the article whilst on a plane. I really couldn't believe that a journo had finally come up with the balls to articulate in print what so many people have been saying. Foy's display was so incompetent that it inevitably invites thoughts of bias - or worse! I doubt that the authorities will do anything other than try to sweep the whole episode under the nearest carpet, and hope it stays there. They shouldn't be allowed to get away with it - but unfortunately, I fear they will.
