the result was in the bag well before the game. I watched parts of Bradford games in all thier cup matches and i said they were outclassed in nearly all of them but got through on penalties in two matches where they were well beaten football wise. this happens and they rode their luck well and fair play to them and deserved their wembley day out... but as i said it will be a different ball game on a perfect pitch at wembley and they will have trouble getting the ball off us and we will be far too good, I said we would score a minimum of 4 goals and we won 5-0 but it could have been 6,7,8-0 if we had upped a gear and stopped showboating and exhibition football. It was fantastic for us and when the Bradford fans realized they were never going to win then they were enjoying the game as well. It was one of the most one sided games i have ever seen but everyone including Bradford enjoyed the experience....
Musty, you missed a cracker. I must say I was rather disappointed that Bradford didn't have a go, I was expecting then to get in our faces, but nothing. Once we got our first goal, then a second the game was all but over. Our football was sublime over 986 passes!!!
Agree Dai, we could easily have scored 7 or 8. Then again I would have hated to do that to a plucky Bradford side.
I actually blame their manager for them not having a go as once the second goal went in he should have changed to plan B but they just kept on playing the same way of trying to take us on and long passes that never reached their players. it was embarrassing to hear his comments after the match when he said his players gave us a good go......no they didn't at all, they showed nothing and did not have a single shot on goal until the 87th minute and that was a weak shot......Bradford's problem was the managers inability to change tactics that may have given us a better game...they would still have lost but lost with a bit of pride. I felt sorry for them and was wishing they would do something....we even cheered when they did manage to take a shot at goal....
But Dai, they don't have a Plan B. with respect to us they barely have a Plan A. They are just not as flexible as we are tactically or technically to change mid-game. Hoof it long or longer, really mass no difference.
they should have been better prepared by their manager. If i was a bradford fan i would be really angry that the manager did not have any other plan in the biggest game of their life.....funnily enough it was said as much on talk ****e yesterday when they were talking about what happened and the manager was slagged off by bradford fans for his comments that they give us a good go....west end could have put up a better fight and michu said today that they eased up on bradford, I an not happy with that comment as we should not have eased up and scored a lot more goals....
Who really cares? We play who is in front of us ! God we moan when we lose we're moaning cos we won fcuking nuts!
bradford fans care and im sure im not the only one not happy to hear muchu say we eased up.....we should never ease up on any game and gone for a cricket score that would put us in the record books for a very long time...
Poor bloody show if you ask me!! Would have been great to break the 1000 passes. Leon should have played keep ball with Ash!!
