- The football is known as revolving around possession, but it can be annoying when there doesn't seem like any end product or any emphasis on doing something with that possession in the final third. We frequently came away from matches with 60% possession, but hardly any shots on goal, and a 1-0 defeat or something similar Has to be better than our last one 40% possesion at home and stuffed 4-0
Managers don't win games. Players do. We have some good players, but most of them are **** and won't keep us in the league. If we're not going to give SOD more money than we gave McInnes then I'd be shocked to see him do any better. While true, I still don't think SOD will get us back to winning ways without significant investment, and that's something the board just won't do. I'm a fan of SOD, but we have to realise the true extent of our situation. We're several points adrift, we're as leaky as a sponge, our senior players can't be ****ed to play properly, our captain wouldn't cut it at Pro 5, we're one of the smallest clubs in the league, we have no money despite having one of the richest owners in England and because a bunch of numpties don't want a building site near them we're deprived of any ability to grow into a new stadium. There's nothing I'd love more than to see SOD turn our fortunes around, and I'm glad to see a man that really wants this job (even though we turned him down before). However, I'm a realist and quite frankly I've already resigned myself to a relegation dogfight and looking at what teams League 1 will bring to us next season.
