Yep, Driesen is back - and Steve Gallen has to impress the spotty geek every time he wants to get a player in. The rest of the forum was various fans telling Gallen what a good job he is doing and de Turck explaining away RD's veto on a new player by waffling on that the bloke was a big risk because he had hardly played any football lately... So, no different from any of the signings Charlton have actually made in the last two seasons then.
I think you are right - things got a bit too hot for him during the Fraeye disaster. He copped loads of abuse on Twitter (I plead guilty) and has Blocked dozens of Charlton fans. How must Bowyer feel, having to discuss players with that prick?
Steve Gallen says that a big part of his job is winning Driesen round when it comes to signing a player. My p1ss is starting to boil Does anyone think Bowyer will want to carry on for much longer with this arrangement? You can see why we signed Josh Parker.
If this is true then Driesen has probably never left the gaff. Bowyer and Jackson are no lesser yes men than the others.
According to Major over on ITTV it was common knowlege that Driesen was still here - he was mocking Willet about it. To be honest though, while Driesen is a definition unqualified nobody, the fact that signings also need rubber stamping by RD raised my eyebrows a little. While as owner I can imagine he would want to know who he is paying for, I would imagine there are fewer people connected with league one clubs with less idea about football than Duchatalet. By his own admission he spends 2% of his time on Charlton (I think that may be a lie but we'll leave it) so beyond paying wages, on what basis does he know about who to bring in? Laughable.
Owners (even on the continent) do not normally have a say on transfers, if the owner wants an independent view on transfers --- other than the Manager/Head Coach's then he hires a Director of Football to advise him--- not approve transfers himself!
