All sounds generally quite promising. I think the main issues are how we are going to trim out squad and the stadium, their answers to these sound good
Not scoring enough from the chances created. Other teams are doing better. We have a young team that will improve. JE. It is a tough league and you have grind out results. Teams come to play contre attack and you have to wait for your chances.
What is it that makes Lloyd keep his place? I wish I had twenty players like him. GFZ He works his socks off.
Young Brit Assom etc They are keeping an eye on him, GFZ sees something in him. he came back to train with the club.
Pre-season: Can we go on a tour around Italy and Spain. Maybe. A three club tournament at Watford possible.
Is GFZ too nice to crack the whip? No you just have to be honest with them. JE very glad he took a wage cut to stay at Watford. The players do listen to GFZ and respect him.
Do the club have to get approval from the Pozzos before they do things? No, he is gives us support but we just give him updates.
Why doesn't GFZ acknowledge the fans more. I am so involved I don't hear what is going on. He had someone at West Ham to remind him.
Engish teams are very good at dealing with the long ball down the middle, so with our passing game we are trying to find a way around it. That was the last answer.
I wonder what questions Zola would like to ask the fans if roles were reversed... Cheers for the info OFH !!
Sorry about the shorthand, but I might remember and be able to expand a little if the Bordeaux doesn't kick in too soon.
Well done for keeping up Frenchie. I have to say that that all seemed great. Lets just hope that things do improve and that for the first time in years, we have an honest backroom.
Sounds good all in all, actions speak louder then words is what I say, so well wait and see. Thanks OFH
I thought that overall it was a very good evening. Under the last regime I was thought to be sceptical about some of the promises being made, and I think that as events panned out I was right. Tonight I had a different feeling. It was stated that they knew what level of debt they were taking on, and would not make promises that they could not keep, eg the East Stand. He did say that if promotion was achieved then it would be required sooner rather than later. If there was one thing I didn't understand it was about the SW corner. Duxbury stated that there was a partner involved in completing the area with changing rooms and hospitality areas. He hoped that contracts would be signed at the end of this month/ December, and work would start next year, with a move of the dugouts before the season ended. There was no further comment about the partner, and I have not seen that one was involved.
Thanks for the commentary OFH. Unable to listen last night. Have just got into work this morning and read your summary. It all sounds quite promising.
I thought everyone came across pretty well. Some good ideas planned for the future but clearly they cannot make big promises..we've seen that happen before and nothing actually come to those words. Zola did well and was comfortable apart from forgetting names! Some long winded and dull questions which are to be expected.
Oi Oi MEX!!!!! No 'Egg Chasers' (at the time) = No GT return... the great man said so himself. Ergo we'd have been in deeper doo-doo a lot quicker than we were! Now we are in (hopefully) a position to function longterm without a 'groundshare' all well and good, but it was a necessary and expedient deal at the time. I'm happy Saracens are leaving too... it's an absolute PITA trying to get to the Vic on matchdays and until the council get their heads out of their proverbial backsides to sort out transport and parking in particular then it always will be. I don't doubt for one second that the access to their new stadium in Barnet will be superior to the hamstrung efforts of getting to The Vic.
