Well done Roller et all in getting recognition for this board. Following on from that, can we get further recognition and be acknowledged as a "supporters club". Most of us are members anyway. For example, when we want to block book tickets like for Brixton day, we had to go online and book all our tickets separately. For the Charlton game in November, there are about 8 of us travelling over. If we were all recognised as an official supporters club, we should be able to block book seats in a certain part of the ground. The question is, how do we become an official supporters club and receive certain benefits.
Leftfield one Roller - would the owners be interested in the idea of leading the way in the UK in a very long term strategy of establishing a German model of club ownership? Obviously after training ground, stadium etc sorted out, and I'm not sure if TF and co would get a return on their investment (are they expecting one?), but simply looking into this would make me very happy.
I would like some clarification on where we stand at the moment regarding Warren Farm. Is it a possibility the whole thing could get scuppered? We seriously need to get some update on this subject as we're talking about the most important issue for future growth of our club. Better facilities will educate and help attract the best young talent, and help attract better players. I'm tired of being bullshited, and I've had enough of false dawns.
Great news for the forum, a deserving reward for the lads that put the time in. I've no real issues to raise, but it would be good for the club to have a presence in Westfield. I live near Stratford and the one over there has one for the Raving Irons. Not the most pressing concern, but it would raise the club's profile I feel.
I like it. That's a great idea. It should be winging its way to you right now TORIH. The eprogramme idea is a cracker. I have always wondered about this and sent TF a link to a very good article on it not too long ago. That would be nice, and I agree with your sentiment on this. I was with my girls in Westfield after the QPR Open Day and wondered why we didn't even have at least a club shop there. There was an Adidas store with loads of a certain teams kit on clear display though. We also went into The Spaghetti House restaurant, after sitting down and placing our order, one of my daughters pointed to the wall above the bar. ''Urgh, look dad they've got Chelsea stuff.'' She said. Sure enough up on the wall was a CL Chelsea poster and a pennant. We gathered up our belongings and promptly left.
Great work Roller and good ideas on here. I'd love QPR TV. I'd like to see a statue of Stan outside the stadium Even better statutes of that whole team and Manager, that came 2nd back in the mid 70's, spread them around every entrance, and move them to the new stadium when it's built. Particularly as they won no trophies, we should have permanent recognition of the best team we've ever had, and that considered by many neutrals to have been England's best team at that time.
Would the media/press team consider spending an hour a month actually on each major forum? A regular, allocated slot would really capture the voice of the fanbase from the day to day to the bigger issues. It's a relatively low overhead to the club (compared to the organised meetings -although they are still needed) but mean that diverse forums aren't trying to capture all questions in one (in the knowledge that there's no guarantee of being able to ask a second at the official meetings). Our one question could lead to the opportunity to ask many more.
Excellent that this forum is being recognised. It is one of the major QP forums these days, with a large base of regular posters. Some excellent suggestions in this thread, but for me its the family stand. It has killed the atmosphere in the lower loft, and the fact that the club said they consulted fans about it, but blatantly didn't really angers me. Its the home end, which is meant to be intimidating, but no. Families are much better off in the paddocks near to the tunnel where the players are more likely to give autographs. The club doesn't need such a large portion of the stadium cornered off for families, it just doesn't make sense. In a larger stadium I can agree, but not with the capacity of Loftus Road.
from a selfish point of view I'd go along with exactly what finglas has said. he goes to infinitely more games than me. it would be nice to find out how we go about getting a supporters club recognized. the same format could then be applied to other groups. Scandinavian R's Aussie R's etc
This. Opposition grounds blow us out of the water on the pie-front. Be nice if there was a bit more variety/the occasional menu addition, those "pizza pod" things at other grounds are brilliant Absolutely!
Problem with your 'Paddock' plan Judo, is that there are just as many ST holders in the Paddocks (like me) who would oppose it. Its just a case of the club can't please all the people, all of the time.
I agree with this, although as Staines says, whatever they do, there will be ST holders put out. I believe we should put away supporters in w and x blocks and then put the family stand in the lower school end.
I thought you guys all loaded up with pub grub & beer before the game - can't people last a couple of hours without? Here in North America, when most people attend movies at the cinema, they seem to require to continously stuff butter soaked popcorn into their faces, whilst unwrapping noisy candies, always slowly, attempting to be quiet - I generally don't, but my kids of course do and I sometimes share a bite - as a kid I always enjoyed the ice cream lady at intermission time at the cinema - choc ice in particular was a favourite!
Not all of us mate...I much prefer a soda water and lime with a vegetarian wrap In all seriousness though......I really think that if the catering was of better quality with more choice, instead of the s*** that they serve up at the moment, there would be every possibility to get people in earlier thus making a few more quid for the club.
I completely understand, anywhere where there is ST holders is going to cause issues. I think my main anger about it is the fact that there was no communication from the club about it, the fact that the family area is so large, and the fact that it is right behind the goal at the home end. Seems to me perhaps half of the school end with netting above is the best bet.
As a follow up to the QPR TV idea, which I suspect might be a non starter due to rights issues, what about a stream of the whole game 24 / 48 hours after the fact? We'd have our own commentary team, and should be able to enjoy the game without the nervousness that acompanies it. Of course, if we have another year like last year at any point, that'd be completely pointless. But as long as we're winning...!
Just checking through the email from Paul and the expected attendees are Top Table: Harry Redknapp and two members of the current First Team squad So bearing in mind that a full out assault on why we failed to sign another striker or defender in the transfer windows would undoubtedly be counter productive, maybe a question on bringing through the kids would be more appropriate? Maybe linked to having no attackers on the bench for a couple of matches? any more thoughts?
Bloody hell! Yes, definitely time to be diplomatic, Roller, and like your spin on the question. How many attendees will be there? I'd assumed that it would be a smaller, more intimate round table affair.
Not worth asking about anything other than current team/player matters if that's the line up. No Beard? Ask Harold what Tom Carroll's best position is. And why he isn't playing there.
