Born in Hammersmith Hospital, lived first 25 years of my life in Shepherds Bush, 5 minutes from the ground, could see the floodlights from back of house.... spent next 15 years in Maidenhead and last 20 odd years in South East Ireland....
So used to be local but not anymore.... that's why these forums are so important as it keeps those of us who've moved away in touch with our roots.....

Long round journey for me, born in Somerset then to Eastcote (where I found the R’s through a friend) and then on to South Wales back to Eastcote and then Milton Keynes, Hemel Hempstead, Rayners Lane, New Malden, New Jersey (handbrake turn!), Somerset and now Poole.

Whereabouts in Eastcote? I now live in Fore Street, near Ruislip Woods. Brought up in Harleseden and moved to Eastcote via South Harrow.
Ahhh… I used to go to Coteford school in Fore St., remember the American base at the end of the road way back. Ruislip woods was a regular place to scope out. Black Horse PH was often used much later on around mid-70’s. We lived on the road that led to Highgrove Swimming Pool where my father used to work (there and Ruislip Lido and also Uxbridge outdoor pool - which was my first job as a lifeguard out of school).
