Representative? Of what? Who decides? Which is supposed to represent me? Who do I put my questions too? Who decided you represent anything or anyone? You worked on a single issue group that's still deciding what it will become. To be clear, who do you reckon you actually represent?

It's not representation from what I've seen. It's a long winded way of putting out a press release and massaging egos.

And a few more strategically angled from them to a convenient point outside them. <ok>

Are they planning on doing anything with schools and clubs? (If anybody can raise that at the next meeting).

I represented me, if you want to represent yourself, then I suggest you go to a meeting.

I'm not sure what else to tell, everyone is there to represent themselves, they put themselves forward because they want to improve things at the club, not because they want their egos massaged.

Sorry, I forgot to respond to that before.

There was no specific discussion about schools/clubs, there was just a general discussion about us not engaging enough with the local community and how much better a job FC did with this sort of stuff. Though there was a specific discussion about how the club was increasing scouting in East Hull, as we basically don't have any youngsters coming in from there at the moment.

So it's as I said, an unrepresentative, unelected group of individuals, with others excluded.

One persons idea of improvement has caused a group to be formed and a year of disharmony. I'm seeing some other individuals on there thinking they know what's best without any mandate from those it affects. That's just massaging egos, or they'd get the views of fans, not the selected few.

The main points that came out of last nights meeting were:

Segregation is excessive, in ground policing is excessive and a fan should be on the SAG to question this.

Policing of foreign fans was terrible last time and we should be welcoming foreign fans, not filming and bubbling them.

That people in the home stands should be ejected for wearing away shirts.

That pattie and chips, beer and live music should be available in West Park before and after games.

Is there anything there that you'd disagree with?

I don't think you've any idea if they're representative or not, you don't know who they are, I've been to one of the meetings and i've still got no idea if the group will be representative or not. There's obviously not going to be an election campaign run in Hull to see who gets voted onto a fan group, so it's always going to be unelected, it can't realistically be anything else.

If it achieves something, then it will have been worthwhile, if it doesn't it will have been a waste of time, but I'm happy to contribute until such time as I'm not asked, or it's proven to be a waste of time.

If I get to a future meeting its because I have some questions pertinent to me, or I want to know what the club has planned for the future and be able to respond directly. I don't see it as either side having their egos massaged, but if that's what it transpires to be I will tell them so and I'll be glad of the opportunity to do so. Especially in light of how I view the club owners and their sycophants. I won't judge it until I've seen it and I will never claim to represent anyone but myself unless someone asks me to raise something.

Now that would be disheartening to read from a non league club, but we are a premier league club?

I know our scouting network is hardly extensive, but there are swathes of land in the East Riding catchment area that I'd imagined we'd at least look at from time to time. To learn that we're not even scouting our own city is very, very, very worrying to say the least. No wonder our youth system is catastrophically bad.

There's plenty of local lads in our youth set-up, it's just East Hull specifically that's not represented enough.

I have a few points I would like raised.
    1. I liked the idea of the banners and stuff on the concourses last season but believe they were damaged in a storm ? Good idea, but very amateurish. ie; Hull City is the only name you cannot colour in. We had six big floodlights once.....etc etc. I would like to see more of our history on show. Past club captains like Andy Davidson, Gareth Roberts and of course Ian Ashbee should be up there. Famous players, record goal scorers, past International players etc, crowd records we have broken and so on.
    2. Why is the site of the old ground which is a couple of hundred yards from the present ground not recognised in some way ? The club were formed there and had some good days too. It also had a lot of history attached to it.
    3. I think the club should have a presence near St Stephens in the city centre. Hull FC seem to have corned the market in this and we, as a Premier League club should be dominant in the city centre, not tucked away on the third floor, in the corner, of the second biggest shopping precinct.
Agree totally with the points raised about the policing, filming and treatment of visiting fans (and I would always refer to Royal Antwerp's fan's as the way NOT to treat visiting supporters).
Otherwise it sounds like progress is being made.

I have a lot of sympathy for DMD's position. I think its also reflected a little in some of The Omega's Man's posts. The game has changed since we had FLAG. We've had the success of CTWD, the twists and turns of the OSC, the growth of the 'Ulltras and the club beginning to take fan liaison more seriously. It looks like they are going to create a body that is fairly static in its membership. Do they represent themselves? Should they just represent themselves? How do other fans put their views forward? How do City fans get a representative and democratic group of people to attend the meetings? Do we care? What if all, or most of, the representatives belonged to CTWD?

I feel this could be the beginning of a period of taking the views of fans seriously and an attempt should be made to try and get a structure in place whereby fans in general can have an input in what is discussed at the meetings and receive reports back from the fans attending.

We have been through a difficult period off the pitch and a little bit of extra thought at the beginning may save a lot of trouble in the future.

Just my thoughts, and I'm still disappointed that no attempt was made to discuss with those in E1 to E3 before their eviction.

I thought there were a few East Hull lads in the set up over the last few years - Liam Cooper and Max Clark were both Mally Lambert lads weren't they?

This should state any away fans found in any home areas will be ejected and may be prosecuted.

    Thanks.

It's interesting to see who has been excluded from the meetings. It's a good idea done poorly, and looks to be hi-jacked similar to how the others were.

The issues 'raised' at the meetings were already known to the club and have been for some time. The meeting didn't cause the club to become aware of them.
