Ha, ye i second the Norman Collier story, he was always in Casino and joe Corals down the side of Yates'. Irritating as fuk after awhile. He used to play roulette and every time he would go the the croupier put the chips on th th th th th th th tht th, put it on th th th th th th th th, put it on th th th th th th fuk it put it on zero. The first time it was funny by the twentieth time you wanted to strangle him.
Slightly off topic but I friend of mine had a major role in a sitcom on BBC Northern Ireland and it was wierd being out with them and people coming up to them requesting photos/autographs as I had no concept of their fame never having seen the show.

Alex Higgins when he had just won his first World title, he came to Chalk Lane club and played the whole A & B team, 16 players in all and he had a pint whilst playing each member, and walloped us all, including me. John Spencer came to the club a few weeks later and because it was a men only club at the time his wife/girlfriend/partner whatever, was sat in the car outside for the whole evening, some 3hrs. When on a trip with the family many years ago to Barcelona we went to Nou Camp and found an open side door to the ground, So my family and I went walking across what were the Barcelona training pitches and there at one end was Terry Venables, and in the distance Steve Archibald with Garry Lineker. Terry was a true gentleman, he asked us who we were then took us around the directors box and the private trophy room and movie theatre before saying goodbye.

Billy Bragg and Joe Strummer were like guys you already knew; Joe having the edge over Billy. Chrissie Hynde was without make-up and scruffy(!). Dr. John was quite 'out-of-it' (Methadone programme, I think). So I'd have to give it to Garcia.
