I agree about Ron Atkinson, very decent bloke when I met him. When I was a daft young 'un I'd write to our next away opponent claiming it was my 92nd league ground. I'd get free tickets, programmes and stuff. When I did West Brom they asked us to be at the ground for 1.30pm so me and Mick Turnbull did just that. The other lads paid into our end which was packed. Big Ron met us, gave us a tour of the ground, drinks in the exec bar then took us into their dressing room where Cyril Regis was walking around starkers!!! Then Ron took us out to the centre spot where there the club photographer was waiting to take photos for their next programme. Some of the away end recognised us and started singing 'Geordies here, Geordies there, etc' and pointing at us. Big Ron and he is a big bloke, looked down at us and said 'you lying bastards, go on f**k off' but he was laughing his head off. We didn't want to be in the posh seats, which he'd realised, so we legged it and jumped in with our lot. Happy memory that.
HBF stadium, just off Newcastle Street a short walk from the CBD. The football is pretty dire. Made me feel as if I was watching Sunderland! The only times I’ve really enjoyed myself there was seeing The Who there in 2009 and Red Hot Chili Peppers in 2018 (and on that one I was part of the police presence within the ground directly opposite the stage - six hours at double time!!).
I was doin* the lights up in the gantry for jethro Tull, had the headphones on and all these instructions coming through all the time by the set manager. About halfway through I got mixed up and got a wrong colour, Ian Anderson give me the dirtiest look and I never done it again. Lol I was demoted to counting people in at the entrance doors with the little clickers. On a side note I’ve never met a worse man than Ian Anderson, horrible man
Don't like how this admiration society is going Rooch. I haven't got enough money to bail you out during this crisis if thats what your after
Thanks for that EJK, just found it on Google maps, we have friends who live up in up in Maylands so not that far away. Christ, I feel old now, seen the Who in 1968 at Newcastle City Hall. We had holidays with my wife's sister and brother in law who live in WA, in 2015, 2016 and 2019, for 6 weeks each time. We went to see The Eagles at Perth Arena in 2015, I didn't really fancy it but pleased I went, they were incredible.

Desmond Decker, Jimmy James, Alan Shearer, Lord Strathcarron, Her Majesty the Queen,Sultan of Brunei,ex Kenyan President Mooi, Princess Anne,
At least you saw them in their proper incarnation Monty. I’d been trying to see them for about 25 years before I actually did. They were great even then but not outstanding. I try telling the youngsters that I work with that the first time I saw AC/DC was at NCH in 1982 and even then it was after Bon had carked it so I never got to see him either. Same as Pink Floyd. Saw them in 1988 after Roger Waters had left. Black Sabbath over here without Bill Ward. In fact I reckon the only band I really liked and got to see properly were Rush.
A young Samantha Janus on North End Road, Golders Green. Michelle Collins just off Highgate Road, Kentish Town. Ulrika Jonsson on numerous occasions in Camden.
I fooking adore Claudia Winkleman!! I have a huge crush on her, and would bang her into next week, if she wanted!! Bart
She loves her drink mind was knocking them back was also dabbling in other stuff I'm 99% sure of as she popped of a few times and came back different over the course of evening. I've dabbled in past as well behind me now like so I know what the signs are Plus she hardly seemed pissed for what had drank we did have a proper 3 course meal as well like but I was pissed by end of night
Not so much as met him to talk to, but 4 years ago me and Mrs Ref were in Times Sq. NYC. Obviously very busy but was aware of a guy approaching me, came up and patted me on the chest, "great t-shirt" on response to my 'Breaking Bad' top. Surreal moment...none other than Bryan Cranston!!!
