Met Alan Black (former left back) at Thorpe station and Lee Power in the Bell Hotel - he was a bit of a poser lol ! Also met Frank Worthington (former Leicester forward) at Wembley Arena for a 5 a side tournament many years back.
Bumped into Mike Phelan years ago in Jarrolds, was as thin as a rake then, he ain't half put on some timber since ! Sold Greg Downs a bathroom years ago, Simon Charlton a kitchen and I also had Kevin Drinkell vist my showroom years ago. Made eye contact with Mike Milligan in the City and he said 'hello' even though he didn't know me from Adam Also sat on adjacent table to Darren Huckerby's in M & S cafe, really nice bloke Oh, and just remembered, had quite a long chat with Terry Alcock in the Black Horse Pub Earlham Road !
I don't know if this counts but I met all of the team plus the management staff when my lad was a mascot v Charlton 09/10 season (The beginning of the 'renaissance' under PL). Also 'bumped' into Ashley Young and his other half, in the Gucci section of Harrods, last year (I actually followed him) A really nice bloke, spoke to me and my son for about 5 minutes and posed for a pic.
I met Robert Fleck whilst he was Diss manager. My team won a 5-a-side tournament held at the Diss ground, and had a chat with him afterwards, really nice guy.
Over the years, a few Norwich players - but never really a worthwhile conversation - mulryne, gunn, Fleck, Ruel fox, Rob green...recently got to spend the day with John Barnes and Peter Shilton, after booking them as guests for a tv programme - both were proper lovely...a million miles from how i perceive the modern day footballer to be...got to take a couple of penalties against him, although he'd buggered his shoulder and wasn't putting in anywhere near the effort I was...next on my 9 year old bucket list - to go on a hoverboard with wileykit and wileycat (sp)...
My mate was having his stag do and ended up bent over a pool table with a ropey looking Miss Whiplash smacking his whipped-cream covered backside with a crop when Darren Eadie came in with a couple of his mates. Nice bloke, had a chat, bought a round and chipped in for the entertainment. Can't say fairer than that. Met Paul Ince and Nigel Benn at the G-Mex when Norwich were playing in the Super 6 Tournament in the eraly 90's - Benn was the friendlier of the two and he had a huge presence about him. No amount of ale would make you think you could take him.
