House prices down south are ****ing ridiculous. I moved into a new house a year ago, a 3 bed semi in good condition. It's on a nice, quiet estate, no crime to speak of, good transport links and the local primary school is "outstanding" according to OFSTED. It cost me £124,500, so no stamp duty. You'd probably get a parking space for that in London.
