Superb ^ today i lost all hope Thing is.......... The hope Keeps Coming back! Its called being an safc fan! Hclvxlrgl gxbhhvkfh!
My first real season supporting the lads by going to the match was THAT season in the third division! Allowed to go on my own with mates. Had some ups and downs since. Still not sure if he can turn it round but will give him time as we have sacked managers in the pass and got worse.
Not knocking the OP but these youngen's have it easy these days. Rememeber the Roker & Fulwell ends mate? getting a piss at half time was an event in itself, the pies were ****e and took the lining off the roof of your mouth, them were the days and tested anyones loyalty. Seriously though, stick with it RedNW, good times will return but sure as hell, you'll have to endure more bad times as well.
We've all been there mate, the life and times of a Sunderland supporter eh? We've all witnessed the lows and seen some ****e dour football, on the other hand i've seen some cracking games and generally had more good times than bad and hand on heart can honestly say that i've enjoyed the ride. Good times are just round the corner, we just have to have a little patience.
I think the big thing that defines your love for your club is what sticks in your mind. I remember things like Chelsea in the cup run in '92, Millwall 6-0 , Russell getting 4, Russell again v Sheff United, Reids first at Roker, EDwards v Burnley, Leadbitter v Saints, Ricco v the Mags, Quinn & Phillips v Chelsea..... It's these moments that make you fall in love , and all the ****e could be buried with one good show, imagine, an away win at Goodison, all would be well again... That's how it is.
Was a bit young for that one mate, I really started watching footy in the '86 World Cup! I was at that final though v Norwich, with my uncle Jeff, although I remember literally nothing of it.
We got pelted with coins the entire game, I took a **** in the wash basin & our coach got bricked. One of the more memorable away trips, lol.
We had a ****ing good ruck with some Headhunters on the way back to the coach too, I got my bastard nose broke that night, lol. The whole area was teaming with OB & the ****ers did nowt.
The point is - after skimming all the above - you, me, we.... we're all caught. Nowhere else to go because nothing else compares. We all, unfortunately, love SAFC. I don't even like football. Don't watch anyone except SAFC and England every 2 years. I can't go anywhere else. I defy any of you to be able to say you can. Its SAFC UNTIL DEATH DO US PART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry but oh so true. x
This is it Bobby. We'll whinge, bitch, shout & swear, but I'll be there at WBA. It's how it is, and it's how god intended it to be.
Mush. It isn't god. Its my older bloody brothers! I'll never forgive them. Mind you, with my luck I'm sure two things would have happened...... Had I been born in Manchester, I'd support Stockport. If - as a baby - I'd fallen into a bucket of tits, I'd have come out sucking my thumb xxx
Neither will i pal its just they like to make themselves hard to love. Just like my missus actually maybe i am doomed to loving selfish tosspots who always let me down. God i hope shes not looking over my shoulder.
Ha Ha I remember them days, always jumping from bed to bed picking the wrong birds, could never find the right one. Then my lass came along and her loyalty to me through some things that she was not used to has been unquestionable. I'm talking bizzys coming through the door, me going missing for days on end etc etc. Not once did she ever judge me or think about leaving me, for that i'm starting to sort myself out now. I owe it to her. I believe that everybody has somebody out there who is perfect for them, keep looking cos you will know when the right one comes along, you just do
