On the back it says “don’t worry trailblazer, within 30 years we’ll have a burgundy away shirt everyone will love”
Got to love the sixties. The football strip was probably the most fashionable thing I had. North Shields was a long way from carnaby street
Mate of mine has a Boro UEFA Cup Final program and Newcastles Fairs Cup win gets a few mentions in it. It wasn't the biggest trophy in the world but it was significant enough for UEFA to take it over in 1971. Cant understand why UEFA would want to erase history by scrubbing it from the record books. There were some great teams and famous players who won that pot. If it doesn't count for Newcastle then it doesn't count for dirty Leeds and Arsenal either. That said, the games against Rangers were real enough and Barcelona have the pot listed in their trophy list so if its good enough for them then its good enough for me My old Subbuteo Cup was more "biggerer" and important than the Inter Two Bob thingy
