The trouble with that flamboyant save, was that I felt he could have held on to it. The resulting corner was the one from which they scored
What do you know about anything you like rugby ! How was the trip home ok? Did you drop Kev off safely? Great to meet you sorry about the other three
And like me ,your entitled to them Aswan. Yes watching it on live TV gives you a more detailed view of what goes on, you get an overall picture of how the team played, what you do miss though is the tactical positioning of players sometimes. Anyway, for me Monk did ok but was found wanting in key areas. I apreiciate his efforts but i just call it as i see it,number 3 centre half for a reason. Tremmel made his "hollywood" save to impress everyone and it cost us a goal, harsh but true im afraid. He is number 2 for a reason, i understand that Ive been wanting tiendelli to play NOT for a long time but for the last few games, of course Laudrup knows better than me and tends to share your view as he is playing Ben against the big boys. Ben has been caught flat footed in nearly every game he has played, there have been poor defensive mistakes and there have been situations where he hasnt read the game and ball watched a few times, all to be expected from a young player and its something he will learn from !! Tiendelli did ok against Liverpool and will start to feature for us alot more im sure, in fact i would rather see Ben Davies move to centre half instead of monk and tiendelli come in at full back, im sure that could happen in the future if needs be or when maybe taylor comes back to fitness. Problem we have is that many only want to look at one side of a players performace and that is just the good things they do,Ben is an exception here to a certain degree because he is doing fantastic all things considered, but he is still making mistakes, and i dont mind highlighting them. i dont blame him for not being tight on Moses for the goal though, i blame monk for not defending it against cahill . No defense is perfect, goals will always be conceeded by sloppy play or another player just getting the better of a situation, that is all basic stuff and part of football..dont mean to say we gota like it though!! Im not intrested in just saying all the right things, far too many people just say what they think people will want to hear, not me. Aswan, if i was there at the game its quite possible i would take a similar viewpoint, seeing it live on TV has it good points and its bad points, one of them being that bad play sticks out alot more, especially on the half time and full time analisis .
I Thought we had a very good game and could have had all 3pts if as you say we had taken our chances in front of goal instead of passing across goal, Hernandez had a great game and playing with more confidence each game and a bloody good goal, chelsea did not play as good as they could have thank goodness, I agree lads the ref was a bit one sided for all to see,the Britton yellow was a joke carhils was more of a yellow card than any thing. great pt southampton here we come.
If we can Get 3 pts at Southampton that would be amazing . Its going to be tuff though thats for sure
Southampton have conceded 26 goals in 9 games - almost 3 goals per game. They have had a tough start though, playing Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal & Everton. From what little I have seen of them this season they seem to play good football and I was expecting them to be the best of the 3 promoted teams. Certainly a game which we are capable of winning though.
I think most Chelsea fans would agree it was the noisiest away Prem game they have attended for a few seasons
Cheers, that's a bold statement to make though considering some of huge clubs and stadiums in the league. Nice to hear
I thought both sets of fans were great yesterday. Two excellent sides having a go at each other. I thought Chelsea shaded it, but we deserved something out of the game.
Monk is championship at best, even in his prime, was never a player with pace, but yesterday he was adequate, nothing more, hopefully we wont see to much of him this season. Monk has to much of opinion of himself in my view, he was a problem for Sousa, and he's a problem for Laudrup too, Out of respect for his service, I'll not expand on his clear lack of ability at this level, If he had half a brain he would have gone to Bristol, did I mention he's the wrong side of 30? I want my team to stay in the Premiership, and Players like Monk and Tate need shipping out, no sentiment in business, and none from me here either. I'm sure common sense will prevail, and they will be gone in due course!...............
