We hope he is going to help solve some of our problems (the world may have to wait a year or two). We have lost so many points this season for the want of one goal. This has been for two reasons, the two main goal scorers have spent many games injured and we have had a general lack of creativity in the final third of the pitch. Now, with the two main goal scorers looking like they may be getting over their injury problems and a creative attacker being added to the team we may be able to score that one extra goal in games that will win the points we have been missing.
I still cannot believe that we managed to buy their POTY (2 years running) and he is a true professional too
Pre season expectations from us (and everybody else) were about where we are now. If we can get top four it will be a bonus this year. FIXED your post for you
What Moyes has done with mata I thought would never happen. With all tribulations in summer and all the ****ing nonsense, haggling over a couple of millions, trying to get a bargain with the Fellaini business, I had given up on United pulling off any major transfer, especially with Woodward appearing like a prat. Really good pleasant surprise.
Cheers Diego. Yes half a season but my point was really that the signing of Mata has papered over Utd's season so far and given Moyes a new lifeline.
It may be sinking in with Moyes that he can actually compete now for top players with realistic fees instead of working on a budget.
I was despairing that Moyes had kept his Everton mentality. Get the most from his limited bucks. I think he did good in the last few weeks.
I have been saying for the last ten years United are good decorators, we have been papering those cracks for so long i have forgotten they are there
Those previous cracks were quickly poly-filled, sanded down, pasted and papered over by a proven craftsman, but this seasons cracks have been to big for the new apprentice to handle, hence the Mata deal being done by the former manager.
