    true but SM and SG were probably too pally which undermined their authority... I think you need a balance. That's why I like SP, you know not mess with him but I'm sure on some occasions he can be quite nice

    Interesting comments, for me I think Ferdinand is an injury risk these days and Terry may not even be selected so it's time to look to the future.

    That part I can agree with, it just seems like England players take far, far too long to recover from every injury they get. Gerrard is one of our very best players but when did he last play? Wilshere was first choice before his injury and he hasn't played for about a year now either and Ferdinand always seems to be involved in Man U's permanent defensive injury crisis.

    Wilshere has had a setback in his recovery I think. I'm sure I read recently he's gone back to see his specialist. I also agree that Ferdinand is an injury risk.

    Re Terry, I don't think that he's as good as he once was, but I would still have him in the squad for his experience and committed performances. I also think that Cahill was bought as a long-term replacement for Terry, but with the performances of Luiz he is now playing alongside Terry.
