The guy who starts his sentence with the word "dude", and has no answer to any of my points other than a childish, irrelevant insult wants to discuss things as adults? Funny that.

What has happend is that England for the first time in a long time showed respect to the opposition and realized they could not beat them at their own game.
(playing free flowing technical football) Spain are arguably the best in the world at this as their record proves. What England did was play to their strengths, which was set pieces and 'bulldog spirit' basically chasing the ball and last ditch tackles. Against Sweden (a team not far off with comparable talent to England) i expect to see us try and win the game.

I don't want us to become the Greece side of 2004 but I would not mind it when we face a team like Spain, of which there are very few.

As I said in a recent post it's amazing what a team can achieve with the right type of players, not always the ones who get headlines because they are the chosen prince(s) of the red top media but the ones who actually want to represent their country and understand a team is made up of individuals who need to bond in order to operate at their peak. If Capello sticks with that ethos we might be pleasantly surprised next year.

If anything, they played to Scotland's strengths - get stuck in, tackle like your lives depend on it, chase everything, don't give them an inch and hang onto a lead like grim death. It got the Scots back-to-back wins over France, so it's not an ineffective strategy.

Of course, would the same have happened if the usual suspects waltzed into their places in the team#? Probably not, truth be told.

Fabregas is merely trying to deflect discussion from his shocking miss. Given that we need to work on player roles, and were up against a far better technical set of players, we were entitled to close the game down. Yes a bit lucky to get a goal - but its a funny old game.

To be honest he's always been like this, remember when Arsenal lost to Ipswich last season and he had a hissy fit about them "parking the bus"

oh yes , i remember his comments BEFORE that game , about how we needed to show respect to Ipswich.

    IPSWICH ffs .

As a top team you dont show respect to such teams , you go to thier scabby ground and destroy them .

If you dont go there with that mentality you shouldnt wonder why when you lose to them .
