Bit gutted it didn't work out for him. Loved watching his effort and his goal against the mags and the goal in the cup final but, in reality, he was a glorified penalty taker and, as Defoe took that Mantle last season, Borini wasn't really use nor ornament (although still a million times better than Januzshite) He is as good as Messi in his head - maybe if the just thought "If I work I might be able to help these lot" he'd probably be seen as a much better player!
Disagree with your last part – always thought he put a shift in. Ultimately just didn’t have the quality.
He may yet turn out to be a bargain for whatever Club he goes to, but first, somebody has to work out a position for him. One sure thing is he's not a striker. And Penalty Taker, unfortunately isn't a position. He isn't great out on the wing either. In days of yore I might have suggested he might fill the role of a deep lying inside forward, Don Revie, style. However, once away, he's not our problem. The only thing about I'll miss was his goal celebration, if nothing else for it's rarity value.
Liked him when he was here on loan, always seemed to be making something happen in games. He's been a shadow of his previous self since he signed permanently and worse still hasn't been giving his all over the last 6 months or so. I'll be glad to see the back of him though i'm quite shocked that decent clubs are interested in him.
I read it earlier this afternoon. Came up as a news item. But it does show older ones as well so might have been an oldie. Yesterday. Sunderland can't bow down to Lazio pressure.
They've never done a scrap of journalism in their lives. It's just a bunch of post grad freelancers hired to rehash already existing news stories in bulk for very little money per article and their opinion pieces expose them for their lack of knowledge and research. They don't get paid enough to put that much effort in. Every HITC article you'll notice a little hyper-link back to the original story. It's a sham of a company really.
When we had him on loan he had the heart of a lion and had a great work ethic. Apart from goals against the mags and the cup final goal i remember the goal at home to west brom! A brave goal which ultimately sealed our great escape! Good luck to the fella...but yep he was ****e last season.
Think that's what I meant giacch but didn't put it over very well - never meant he didn't work just alwayd thought that he thought the wrong things which made people (ultimately) say what has been said on here for the most part
Sure they're owned by the mirror group or one of it's subsidiaries as well (looked into them a little while back as they seemed to love putting the boot in to Sunderland - even moreso than most others) As for the "loan" deal mentioned by someone above, all I can find is "ahead of a £5m move" Edit - ignore that line - just found a number of articles although they all seem to say "condition to buy" rather than option
