    Newcastle United Under-18s 1 (Olley)
    Manchester United Under-18s 0

Dave Watson's side recovered from the disappointment of their FA Youth Cup quarter-final defeat to Chelsea with an impressive victory over Manchester United at Little Benton.

The Magpies completed a Barclays Under-18 Premier League double over the Red Devils thanks to Greg Olley's first goal of the season, despite being without the likes of Adam Armstrong, Rolando Aarons and Lubo Satka, who were all involved for the first-team at Fulham.

Manchester United had scored five against Middlesbrough two weeks ago but it was Newcastle who made the brighter start, with Liam Smith firing over in the fourth minute.

Freddie Woodman dealt with long range efforts from Demetri Mitchell, Joshua Harrop and Marcus Rashford before Matthew Willock was off target in a game of few chances.

But as the hour mark approached, Olley managed to burst through and smash the ball past Dean Henderson.

Woodman made a good save to deny fellow England youth international MItchell but a well-organised Magpies defence rarely looked like letting their lead slip

Pleased the likes of Aarons, Armstrong and Satka getting involved with the first team. Even travelling down is all part of it. Good win, they've done well this season.

Should have been playing down at Fulham, couldn't have done any worse than the useless ****ing bastards that were supposed to be playing. They weren't worth a light never mind the massive salaries that they do get.

They should be made to repay us our money for the tickets and the travel, heaven knows they wouldn't miss it.

Aye it was a disappointing effort. No disrespect to Fulham but they were there for the taking. We just never looked likely to take advantage.
