    Really simple way to bring the domestic cup magic back. Give league champions, fa cup winners and league cup winners entry to the champions league. league runners up can qualify for the champions league via preliminary CL games, then all the league runners up uafa cup qualification only.

    Basically stop giving 2nd, 3rd and 4th place finishing teams in the prem qualification to the CL. Make them win something (fa cup, League cup) to gain access to champions league. Suddenly clubs stop putting out 3rd rate teams because the competition suddenly is much more lucrative to win.

    Its an interesting idea, it is called the CHAMPIONS league afterall not the you finished fourth well done league.

    For me though id scrap the Europa league and make it a simple knock out tournament. Its an absolute chore and bore currently. Making it knock out sets it apart from the CL and not just a second rate European competition for also rans.

    It'll never happen because you could have someone outside the top flight in the CL.
    UEFA will simply not allow it.

    Agree whole heartedly, to have a squad to compete and still do well in the league would cost a fortune in wages and frankly it's an unsustainable format.

    an even easier solution, Bring back the cup winners cup and make it knockout all the way through, they should have never have got rid of it.

    Totally 100% the fault of the FA that this is now a completely meaningless event. They have ****ed about with the FA Cup for 10 years until it is now only important for lower league clubs to get some revenue.

    5.15 pm kick off, with the season finale not until next weekend is a disgrace. I'm just waiting for the announcement that it will be seeded soon and the end of it will be complete.

    FA = ****ing Arseholes

    For me it's only got no value because we aren't in it. Great for Wigan and City and for the rest, just another game I suppose (apart from the fact that I have £100 treble on Celtic, Chelsea and City) a good game will do as long as City win.

    The thing with this 5.15pm kick off is there is a lack of trains back to the north west after the match so where is the sense in that, fans struggling to get back home, this p1ssing about with kick off times and playing Saturday, Sunday and Monday too placate the Sky cameras is getting on my tits. Five of our last six matches havent been played on a Saturday is just barmy. I know sky put in a shed load of money but what about the Fans, oh I forgot no body gives a sh1t about the fans anymore it's all about the money.

    At least Lee Dixon is canny.

    Correct.

    It was finished for me when the FA ridiculously allowed Man Utd to not compete.
