Today has emphasised how tight this division is and how you need to be on top of your game for every match!

IMO we should blood a few youngsters at Coventry and play Bart in goal. If we go out I'm not that bothered but would be gutted if we picked up a bad injury!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!

For the second year in a row, I want us knocked straight out. Much more important things to concentrate on. Play the kids, play the reserves.

I'm going and personally, I think we need to win the game to boost confidence. I would play quite a strong team, maybe start with Lambert, Cork, Fonte on the bench. The good thing is that we can have 7 on the bench.

Would expect to see Dickson and Forte involved, although I can't remember if Forte played in the FA Cup with Preston or not.

Oh god not Forte he was awful against Palace

Yeah, but I've already stated that I want to get knocked out, so I'm not fussed it we pick him and he plays badly. I do not want to see Guly or Lambert out there for one second (Connolly is different, as he could do with some game time following his injury)

I would rather a youth player like Sinclair played rather than Forte - at least he would give 100%

I want to get knocked to be honest, the last thing we need is a big draw against Pompey or a big four club to divert our attention off the league. The f.a cup will still be there for years to come but a great shot at promotion like we have now might not be.It's all and only about the league for me this year.

I'd have a team of:

Bialkowski
Butterfield Hooiveld Martin Harding
Forte Schneiderlin Ward-Prowse Holmes
Reeves
Lambert

SUBS: Jack Dovey, Jose Fonte, Ryan Dickson, Luke Shaw, Sam Hoskins, Adam Lallana, Corby Moore

I would shed a load of crocodile tears for Saints to be knocked out of the cup. Promotion has to be the number one target and the number of games to play from 31st January (home to Cardiff I think) to 23 April is 20 in a period of 12/13 weeks!! We need full fit squad to cope with the demands so put out the youth and reserves for the game against Coventry.

Play the reserves/youngsters. If we win then fine but I would like to see us knocked out of the fa cup. As someone previously mentioned a big fa cup draw could divert attention off the main aim which is obviously promotion.
