Yeah I don’t share the opinion that this means all these players would be ****e if say one of them would come into our usual starting 11 (bar maybe Holgate at right back) Too many changes means it’s very disjointed and nothing we’ve tried going forward has clicked at all due to that
Yeah, any new signing would need to be good enough. Hence my reference to first-team quality. For example, I'd say that Diallo absolutely fits that bill. Whereas I'm not convinced that Rak-Sakyi would. Very good season with Charlton for sure, but my gut feeling is that there would be a noticeable difference between, say, him and Fraser. That said, Rothwell is rusty. I'm hopeful he'll improve as the season goes on, if he plays enough. Which is one reason why I'm fine with him starting here.
Also Alcaraz can’t play the role Martin is asking him to. Needs to be more a proper number 10 to get the best out of him
We are ripping individuals maybe a bit too hard here, too much of the team overall has changed. Say you hand Rothwell, Alcaraz or Mara a start in an otherwise unchanged line up they would perform far better. It’s just not working as a collective.
For me it is the lack of and/or slow movement into space to receive the ball and move players around. I agree that we have made too many changes BUT these guys DO participate in the training sessions and really should be better than what they are showing.
But I don't blame him for trying, it's 1-0 and 45+min left. As others have accurately described, with so many changes, cohesion is a problem but right now, not unsolvable. For the full season we will have more of these moments when the first thing we need as supporters is patience. RM has not done so bad after all?
