For sure. Most players and managers couldn't give a rats ass about the fans. This is their job. This has been proven time and time again, most recently by City, but also this season, as Diego pointed out, by us and United.

As you all know I am the most intelligent Polar Bear in the known universe and you will find , if you spend several days searching this forum and previously the original 606 board, you will find a few comments from waaaaaaaaaayyyy back about how mercenary players are. I have thought about how you motivate a team of highly paid individuals and how it is actually the key to success. Many teams, the Premiership in particular, has lots of teams full of talented, dedicated and well paid players, so why is one team more successful than another? Leicester has really highlighted this at the moment, but it has always been the case. The answer is obvious. Teamwork and all that involves, which is more than just getting along with your fellow professionals.
Indeed. There is a difference between caring about your TEAM and caring about the club and it's fans. To most players, the fans are just white noise that they hear for 90 minutes during a game. There are exceptions of course. But foreign players have a different relationship with football than a lot of the English players. When a player scores a goal, and leaps over an advertisement board to celebrate with fans, I bet, on 80-90% of occassions, that player will be British. The one time I can recall a foreign player leaping over an advertising board, it was to karate kick a rival fan in the face
Why we NEED the academy to work. RLC, et al will be much less likley to pull any similar stunts as have happened this year. Passion beats technical ability every time, good tging our youngsters might just have both
