We have this evening been drawn away to Luton Town who are currently in the top three of Division 2.

They are scoring goals for fun, but are still managed by the 'gobby' Nathan Jones - he of the Cameron McGeehan incident at Fratton Park last season, when he quite wrongly blamed Pompey fans for reacting the way we did after McGeehan's ridiculous histrionics on the pitch after he broke his leg after a shocking late challenge he made on Michael Doyle !!

McGeehan moved on in the Summer, but Jones unfortunately remains.

Having said all that, It should be an interesting match :)

Very disappointed PFC did not get one of the lowest ranking non-League teams. It would be nice just for once if it happened. Hopefully beat Luton and lets get a non-League team at home (except Tranmere and Aldershot) in the second round, another home banker in the 3rd round and Manchester City at Fratton Park in the 4th!!

Pompey have found out the date when they will face the Luton Town in the FA Cup first round.

The Blues will travel to Kenilworth Road to play the Hatters on Saturday, November 4 – with kick-off at 3pm.

Adult ticket prices for the game are £20, with senior (65+) and young adult (aged 19-21) £15.

Assistant boss Joe Gallen told The News he is relishing the game after Monday’s draw.

He said: ‘It’s a tough draw but it’s two big clubs drawn together and it’s going to be an exciting game.

‘Kenilworth Road is a tough place to go and get a result at the best of times.

‘They’ve got a passionate crowd and decent support, so it will be a very exciting game and a very exciting day.’

Meh, I was hoping with the potential for a cupset it would be on TV. Alas, at least we can look forward to Man U on TV in the third round. And the fourth. And the fifth. And so on.

Meh indeed - not an easy tie by any description and not one that whets the appetite.
