Two things...

1) We lack a cutting edge with our final ball. Either that final pass is aimlessly put in the box, or there isnt enough movement in the box.

2) Our defence needs a leader, even one in midfield.

But fortunately we have Tony who is already brilliant and who will become exceptional.

For Real Madrid.

The win should have been more emphatic but hey everyone enjoys a tight exciting semi, especially a last minute winner. The dreadful OG by Smalling is all forgotten.

What is sure is that we have 2 world class players in our team: De Gea and Martial. Lingard and Rooney are working well with AM but should really put away more chances.

The fly in the ointment as always when we have a victory is LVG will be given a reprieve.

You would hope so for £60m. Although it is not the teenager's fault that United paid so much for him.

He is very talented, next season he should even get into double figures.

Would you rather another year of LVG to develop Tony and Rash; or get Jose in and potentially a new strikeforce??

It is not what you (and to be fair a few of the united fans here) said when he was bought. The question then was" will he turn out to be a Bebe?" Not that he was bound to be very good because of his high fee.

I am not that over keen on Jose myself but between LVG and him it is a no brainer. Jose recognises the talent and in martial he has one of the best forwards (if not the best) in the premiership and he is not likely to get rid of him.

Course Jose won't get rid. But will he want two 19 year olds playing a CL Quarter final?

We need another striker regardless of the manager. Rashford can't be our main striker for a whole season, he still has a lot to learn. As for martial, I think the left wing is his and no reasonable manager would want to bench him right now. What we need at the front is a striker and a right winger.

Is he better on the left wing than up top?

He is a versatile player. If u watch him he is not the kind of winger that always crosses the ball, he will always cut in. Same way hazard and other modern wingers play. I think he should play on the left wing while we get a very good no nonsense striker in the middle. He will have more freedom to take on players on the wing. Oh and we need a right winger, ATM we have practically none.
