Went up on goal difference...the 9 nil win we had over Bristol Rovers in the October (when I was 10) was the difference. A certain Colin Lee scored 4 of the goals on his debut.

Our history would have been very very different had we lost that match...cos we went up we were able to sign Ossie Ardiles and Ricky Villa plus keep hold of Hoddle and Perryman...none of which would have happened if we hadn't gone up imho.

Used to bore my kids stupid with tales of that Bristol Rovers game but they forgave me after they came with me to see us score 9 against wigan on my eldests 12th birthday.

Were you at the Ronnie Rosential hattrick 6-2 win for spurs back in 95 <whistle>

Was a great game ... was in Ireland at the time ... Cork.
Was trying to get reception on a **** radio travelling around in a car.
Heard we were 2 down at half time and as we pulled one back the batteries ran out.
When we got to where we were staying I watched it on their sports highlights programme...that and the Murphys were thd only good bit of that trip...but WHAT GOOD POINTS!!!!

That was a little awkward, it was after he dropped it that got me, pepes face was a picture <laugh> had the lid in his hand like "heey man it wasn't me" and the others too <laugh> same look you've seen while defending at times this season <whistle>, happy arsenal won tbh, been ripping the arse out of my chav mate from Fulham all night with my gooner mate from Fulham. Both old pals but I hate Chelsea from living there before the Russian revolution and through it too, we built a little rivalry from our cup meetings over that period of a few years.
