This will be the first match I’ve watched since I took my dad (Grandpops) to the Coventry game.

whatever happened to this major sporting event, coverage used to start at 10am players leaving on coaches, memories of former years, the build up was an all day event culminating in a 3pm kick off

A bit of silver wear and champions league footy will be a hell of a first season for lampard

Still the best cup tournament there will ever be domestically but just means so little to the top sides now in comparison to the CL.

It was moved to increase viewing figures which tells you everything you need to know about marketing and sponsorship in the modern game.

Still love to watch it, would be shocked to see anything other than a Chelsea win, fully agree Lampard has done a fantastic job, and with the quality they’ve signed for next season they will be getting back towards competing in the next year or 2.

Got a great little boost in SkyBet, Auba 2 shots on target, Giroud 1 shot on target at 7/1. Nice bet that.

    3-1 Chelsea.

Must have been backed in a bit, looks pretty safe to me that.

16’s is decent on 3-1. Also took 7/1 on Willian first goalscorer, in good form and penalty taker.

You know, Arsenal have an option for another year on Auba contract, it makes you wonder how much they really want to keep him.

He’s 31, secretly they maybe hoping someone comes in with an offer they can’t refuse.

Looks like what they trying to do is offer him 3 years on lower terms. For all it’s there last chance to get a fee for him, it’s madness for them to let him go.

There’s barely a striker of that calibre on the planet, let alone one who’d sign for a mid table side, regardless of heritage.

If they wanna get back amongst it, they have to tie him down you’d think.

Mind boggles how much he’s asking for, if it scared Chelsea off then he’s got no hope of going to Spain.

The thing I read about them not taking the option up yet suggested it was in part due to the fact he’s on insane money, it didn’t suggest how much but if Ozil is 350k you’d think he’s north of 200k week at least.

The money in top flight football is obscene, he is class though mind, reckon it won’t be too long before we see the first £1bn player

    Sums them up doesn’t it.

Money doesn’t buy a player like that, remember Ronaldinho, Kaka and Messi walking away from the money.

The absolute cream of players will only ever play for 5 clubs, 6 if Milan get back up.
