The championship/league 1 teams are all drawn against eachother which is even better for if we beat Sunderland and are drawn against one of those! Wigan could possibly cause an upset vs Man city but can't see it happening. Arsenal/Liverpool vs Everton is good also as that means one of the better teams are going to be out.
Had to be Sunderland, but at least home if we can get passed Brighton, and good chance for the semi's and a Wembley day out.
If we get through, big if as Brighton are a good side, let’s have a bit of class and not fall into the trap that Sunderland fan have done against us and believe victory is a foregone conclusion. It’ll probably be our hardest match of the season (against them) and they’ve proved they are a great cup team this season. As said though, Brighton are probably not far off a lower Prem side and they’ll be pumped for this one.
Has anybody else, as a result of that draw, just got a renewed sense of optimism for our chances at silverware this Season? Although just reaching Wembley would suffice.
Very good chances at beating Brighton and Sunderland. Depending who we drew after that would depend on my optimism but if we reached the final, that's good enough for me
I'm going anyways in a couple of weeks, doing something for the League Cup final. But I would prefer it to be a visit with City!
We're 5th favourites to win the Cup as posted on Twitter. Manchester City 6/5 Everton 5/1 Arsenal 5/1 Liverpool 5/1 Hull 16/1 Sunderland 20/1 That's the top 6.
I'm amazed how big headed some City fans are getting. It's startling. I hope there's not a massive shock around the corner, cos you lot will whinge to high heaven.
Slumberland are a bad set of losers....................... they claim that Bruce cant get higher than tenth................................................ I bet tenth position looks pretty ****ing good to them now.
Fryatt, Sagbo and Aluko are fairly capable though in all honesty. I'd rather not play Long and Jelavic anyway, save 'em for the League. There's nothing wrong with being optimistic. We could have quite easily got Everton, Arsenal/Liverpool or Manchester City but we got Sunderland, whom we've already beaten twice this Season without conceding a goal. This is one of the best chances at silverware we've, arguably, ever had. Let people have some optimism! We're having a great Season!
