Totally agree. It takes away a bit of the magic of the cup. Little clubs taking big clubs to a replay etc.

That is, actually, a very important point.

A lot of the minnows who get drawn at home to a big club, are motivated to scrape a draw in anticipation of playing at the larger ground. I'm sure that a lot of the "magic" of the Cup, for players of the smaller sides, is to be able to tell their grandchildren, "I played at White Hart Lane, in the Cup!" or "We smashed the Spanners at a two-thirds empty Olympic Stadium."

Why would you want to take that away from these players?

That was then, this is now, SD. I'm a changed man. I no longer feel the need to denigrate the dreams and aspirations of others in order to paper over the cracks of my own insecurities.
