Fair enough, heard he had said he was safe but didn't know he was given assurances even if (hopefully when) they go down.

Anything can still happen this is football, but the Villa fans are all saying he won't be sacked.

All managers are entirely safe and their Chairmen have absolute confidence in them......right up to the point that they are fired. It's the way of football and any other business.

In this case I think he is safe. When he left us for Villa it was a big mistake. He should have waited for a bigger/better club.Villa are a bit of a dinosaur but as has been pointed out they don't have the funds to sack him and even if they did who of any stature would take the job?

So, Man Citeh, with Aguero, Tevez, Silva and Dzeko all currently on the pitch in the 70th minute, can't score against the Stoke team that we put 3 past in the first half?

You only need to score 1 more than the opposition

As long as you do it before the end of added time, I agree! BBC site described this match as continuing City's "surge in form".

MK Dons 1 up at QPR, Wigan 1 up at Macclesfield. Replays required in both, please.

    Balls...Arsenal have just scored.

Must be an inquest at ITV over how they picked the (predictably) worst game of the day.

Result of the Day: Norwich City 0 Luton Town 1.

As a neutral, I just love it when the underdogs win.

    Brighton 2 - 3 Arsenal

Fairly entertaining. Would say Arsenal just about deserved to win.
