Who is bullying Pierre? Just out of interest.

Oh, and it should be ‘off’.

Bullying? Because a fan offers an opinion? Or fans come to that! In reality you’re technically bullying by telling them they are not to slate players they feel is not giving his all as your opinion is the only one to be the truth. This is a football forum for goodness sake!

I think the trend of decent players getting a hard time is not a modern phenomenon. My very first Saints game was a revelation to me when a player called Jimmy Melia - who seemed to be controlling the midfield - was constantly booed by the Milton Road faithful. I've never booed a player (came close with Speedie though...) and smile at how fickle fans can be when you consider some of the 'great' victims over the years: Jason Dodd, Frannie Benali, Bobby Stokes, Kelvin Davis... ....people who are now considered legends.

I think perhaps the difference today is that fickle has reached a new level. One day fans want PEH and Romeu given new contracts and JWP and Stephens out of the club. Just a few weeks later and the position is reversed. At least in the old days there was a bit of consistency over the season (probably due to the absence of social media)!

Anyway, despite the criticism on twitter, I thought Vesty had a decent game on Wednesday. Yes, his movement near Lucas for the second goal was poor but you could say that about the whole team at that particular stage of the game.

PEH is not getting a hard time. It’s just being pointed out that his tracking back has tailed off and become noticeable. Nobody is booing him. Nobody wants him out of the club. It’s just been noted. Plus, commercially, if a £35m bid came in I suspect we’d look at it. Just as if a bigger club came in, I suspect he would too.

As Beddy says, it’s a forum. His form has been a bit off this season. I’m sure he knows it better than most, but if we’re not allowed to discuss that here because it’s somehow picking on him...well all we’ll be left with is TSS talking about electricity!

EDIT: PEH’s form, not Beddy’s. Though that’s dropped off at points too :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I actually thought PEH had a good game on Wednesday. But maybe that's just compared to his general performances this season, which have been miles below par.

As I've said before though, having no depth at CM at all really doesn't help, because it means that PEH is under no pressure to retain his position. That is a fault of the club.
