Indeed he certainly looked rusty in that game, same with Meyler against Spurs. In the FA cup final, his injury ended what had been a pretty decent display up to that point.
I agree he played one of his best games in the final but it was very wrong of his dad to play our weakest player in the final bearing in mind that Faye or Macca had played so well in the other rounds - no wonder why Faye was so pissed off when he left and no wonder Macca is pissed off now - Brucie is taking the piss even picking him
Yeah, nearly, but he didn't. He isn't Premier League quality, if he left us he wouldn't get another PL club in a million years. Bruce's justification for including him in the starting line up in an FA Cup final has left many of us wondering why. He's our fifth choice CB in terms of ability, yet he constantly makes the bench ahead of McShane. During our promotion season, he was given the role of DM, despite the fact that we had Chester who had played there before and Millwall aside, he was ****. He tries his best and his commitment can't be faulted, but that's not enough to be a footballer, especially at Premier League level. When you're up against the likes of Aguero, Van Persie, Costa et al, do you really want Alex Bruce as an option? No. Bruce won't sell his son, so we're stuck with him, but we have Maguire who's potentially better and obviously Dawson, Davies and Chester.
Can we ever have a thread where some of us don't moan like a bunch of old women? We're off to The Emirates in the FA Cup as oppossed to somewhere like Millwall or Birmingham City. Let's just ****ing enjoy it rather than squabbling/ moaning about team selection!
I certainly don't feel bad about the draw, we have been given the chance to put right what happened in the final last year. We can get a result there and should go there will confidence after the draw in the league.
Get in! Chance for some revenge, or if we lose, it's no embarrassment. They are very beatable, but equally capable of putting a display of awesome on. Should be a good game. Plus, 30 mins on the train! YAY!
It's great we get another crack at them. They are definitely beatable if we get our line up/tactics right. If we lose we can concentrate on staying up and giving players like Ince a chance to show what he can do.
You talk like he plays every week. He doesnt. He very, very rarely starts in the league in which he "is the worst player by far" - so what's the problem? There are far bigger things to criticise Bruce for - the consistent picking of Jake and Tom no matter how they play or spending £10m on Hernandez for example - but people still focus on Alex. I's f**ing pathetic. You mean the free-kick that was the wrong decision and he shouldnt have been penalised? That one, yeah? Alex was MotM in the cup final by an absolute f**ing mile and justified his picking in every single way. No it's not, we drew at Brighton.
Yep ya can go to the one about Kidney Stones lol......http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/285538-o-t-kidney-stone Not many threads don't descend into anarchy at some point, last time I looked this one was clear of any bickering
probably when the replays are done? it didn't say anything on the FA website. what odds would you give on Arsenal v City being brought forward for TV? In the guise of last season's finalists launching this season's competition.
thanks. you know, I had quite forgotten that. In the guise of last season's finalists launching the third round.
Only the third round to appease the lower league minnows. 3rd round is the start of the competition proper.
