As much as I love the FA Cup and would love to see us win it again, the league is the priority and a cup run could distract from that.

Hopefully we'll have sorted out a few imbalances in our squad by the time the FA Cup 3rd round is played, King.
If we can get players like Huddlestone, Sandro, Kranjcar and Dawson fit and replace the likes of Pavlyuchenko, Dos Santos and perhaps 1 or 2 others, then we should be able to make decent progress without involving our first XI.

That's the way I'm thinking. A good cup run could help players like THudd, Kranjcar, Dawson and Sandro get back their match fitness, as well as provide an extended outlet for the youngsters who impressed Harry in the Europa League.

It probably wont come off now (but you never know. This is the FA Cup!) the game that might have intrigued me :- Fleetwood v Blackpool.

I call it the Blackpool tram match. You catch a tram in Blackpool and get off at the end of the line.....in Fleetwood.I hope it happens.
I bet a lot of families would be at odds with this one.....if it happens......

There is a certain irony that the Carling Cup and Europa league were supposed to be where the squad players got an opportunity, but they were injured for most of the fixtures and allowed the likes of Carroll and Livermore more games than probably originally planned.

And hopefully make them up their games to put pressure on the first XI. Performances are always better in the first team when someone's breathing down their neck. Quite exciting really as so far, no 1st team player has really been challenged to a place and yet the performances we're are top drawer, so imagine when the likes of Sandro, Hudd, Niko, Daws etc are fit, the performances we COULD get from the likes of Luka, Scotty, Rafa, Lennon, Kaboul etc could be even better than what we're getting now! Great times for us! :D

First XI not involved! <yikes> We'll be struggling to play 2 games a week now as it is. If our 1st team can't find an extra 7 games max, excluding replays, we may aswell give up.

When it gets to March and April and players are at the peak of their fitness, they don't want a two week break; they want to be playing rather than training.

IMO this hindered us last season. I think it was Feb time, we barely played for 4 weeks. Then after that we were pants.
