While refusing to ballot season ticket holders, it's simply not a claim they could successfully make. Though CTWD no longer exists as an organisation, it's social media pages are still followed by almost 8,000 people, I don't believe that the FA will see that as insignificant amount of support for the original campaign. HCST is actually now up to 900 members and we will have to ballot them, even if we are pretty sure 100% will vote against the name change.
Being followed on twitter is not evidence of support. It's not evidence of much. It's not what they see as significant, it's obvious to me that the Allams have an opportunity to point out it's not a representative sample, and can easily claim that there's an obvious bias in the decision making process. Far more effective in putting this to bed would be to ballot everyone, be it those with a customer number or passholders. The problem would be getting the list.
From what I recall of the Arbitration Committee report the FA's own guidelines say there should be a ballot of fans under the auspices of the FA. I presume the Allams have rejected this and it will therefore be taken into consideration by the Membership Committee when making their recommendation. The Arbitration report also seemed to suggest that the previous input from fans (i.e. HCOSC and CTWD) only played a small part in the final decision, more was made of the absolute lack of a business plan.
If that happened we'd probably get programme notes saying that an application has gone in for 2016-17 and Allam on the microphone prior to the Burnley kick-off telling the fans to f*%k off and die.
Most of that is true, but two of the three OSC reps who presented to the FA were vehemently anti name change. One of them is still involved with the OSC and is exactly who I'd want representing my view (as an OSC member) to the FA. The majority of the OSC board at the time were anti name change. It's also worth noting that the presentation to the FA may have been very different from comments made in the media by one individual on behalf of the OSC. However since then the OSC board has changed and is now more pro-Allam, even with the aforementioned individual.
In my opinion Mr Allam should be Forced to poll all season ticket holders . That way his Hull Tigers dream will be dead and buried big time in a yes or no vote .
To be certain of a fair, undisputable outcome, I reckon the ballot needs to be done by a reputable, independent third party. Whatever considerations go into the process, a ballot that includes as many people as possible can put to bed much of the provarication about who has what support. How much would one cost? How accesible is the customer data base?
I can't remember the precise details, but as far as I can remember, the FA said it should be season ticket holders, with a question posed by them and administered by them, but funded by the club. The customer database is owned by the club, it couldn't be done without their consent. They'd lose it and their submission would be a write-off, which is obviously why they don't want one.
I thnk the ignoring of the stipulation regarding the supporter consultation will also make the next application a write off (assuming the FA apply the same rigor to which they held themselves accountable last time, to the application this time). Luck, work, capital are the components to making money. Two of the three will do, sometimes one of the three. His explains why Assem and Captain Ehab have the money they do.
I suspect the data protection act would (or should) prevent any sharing of details with the FA or any third party unless a specific confidentiality agreement was put in place with the club - something they're hardly likely to co-operate with. It's therefore difficult to see how anyone other than the club can conduct a poll amongst season ticket holders or those with a booking history. Obviously if anyone else then conducts a poll the challenge is in how you determine who is a fan and who is not, hence the supporters groups are the next best thing. Therefore if you want a voice it might be advisable to join up asap.
Surely the data protection act is bullshit when you take into account the entire credit reference agency industry?
They wont do it unless the FA insist on one and set the questions. If theyset one it would be just another loaded question with caveats, which the FA would disregard as not being a fair ballot
I have a voice. I don't believe the majority of fans do though, but for me that's not an issue, neither is the trust. The issue is closing any potential loopholes the Allams can latch on to to drag this on and on and on..
Many people, myself included, registered their voice directly to the FA first time around. An organisation can only put forward the views of their members. HCST can only represent the views of their own stakeholders.
I totally agree. That's the very point that the Allam's could make regarding the consultation as presented.
**** what the Owners want. The fa should say poll your season ticket holders or your name change request is void . I dont want all this silent majority **** to go on and on and on as an excuse for him being told no. This is from someone who doesnt Hate AA . ****ing sick of it. And for what ? No benefit to the club what so ever !
