Yes that may be true....and other cases it may not....... but everyone does that...."is it because I am too old, wrong accent, gay, outspoken, wrong colour, wrong religion etc etc..." I have been on interview panels for a three year job where before even seeing the female candidate, we were told not to employ the candidate as she had just got married and so would undoubtedly take maternity leave....on our watch. Women often do not even get a chance to shine... Sent from my STF-L09 using Tapatalk
Beth, the good news is that currently there is a very strong trend that is acknoweldging that "diverse" teams are actually more successful, and there is an active drive for more women in management and Leadership positions. I am fully for this, but on the basis of "competence and experience". I personally am not in favour of the "numbers" situation, where a quorum of positions must be filled. However, the trend is rather positive on this matter and many recruitment projects are often classified as "diverse".
You are making me fear for the British scientific research community Beth. I can honestly say that I have never heard anyone voice an opinion like that in any interview panel I have taken part in over 36 years of work. Over the last 17 years where I am now saying that would have got you a disciplinary. Not to say some didn’t think it and perhaps base their recommendation on it. I’ve been trying to remember, and I reckon of that 36 years (or really 34, not counting a bit of wandering around and self employment) in 8 different organisations, I’ve worked for a woman, or for a boss that reported to a woman, for about 14 years. Which is not bad, but the bulk of them were in the last 15 years. But I’ve never worked in an organisation which had a woman CEO or managing director.
I'm offended by Boy Bands. I think it's unacceptable at the way they're treated as sex objects and fawned over by their mainly female fans. It's wrong and they should be banned. I know they earn good money and enjoy the fame but I know better than them and this objectification of them needs to stop. Hopefully in the not too distant future people will look back and wonder how this was ever deemed acceptable. Right, hold my beer, I'm off to call the police.
This 19th-century depiction of Hylas and the Nymphs has been removed from display by a Manchester gallery 'to prompt conversation'. please log in to view this image
I read about this in The Guardian Strolls. The excuse they give for removing it as you mentioned ' to prompt discussion' can be debunked because they also removed the postcards of the picture from their gift shop. The gallery are also avoiding answering the question of when will the painting be returned once the 'conversation' is over.
I think Ollie you sign some of the out of work F1 girls as players, they couldn't do much worse but they would be a lot better to watch and would bring more money in with full houses every week.
Watch how the condescending feminist Sally Howards ignores what the darts walk on girls have to say and decides that she knows better how these ladies should earn a living. She also makes some bizzare similarities which in no way pertain to a fully clothed woman walking on to a stage.
how dare these females choose what they want to do for a job they should do the traditional jobs for females like nursing please log in to view this image office work please log in to view this image or cleaning please log in to view this image
