They would encourage closing the gap on the inside where Verstappen likes to lunge and subsequently send people off the track.
It was always an ambition to do Monaco but I am no longer that interested, it is just a party, no racing. I can think of better places to party. But never say no. It harks back to the days when motor racing was a flamboyant activity. Days long gone really. Water sports, sailing, powerboating, are the nearest thing to old school, old school being competitors being amongst the crowd, down the pub etc. I will probably get shot down in flames for that remark but, hey ho! I do enjoy F1, I can't be interrupted when it is on. I want to do Silverstone this or next year.
I only live 10 miles from Silverstone and every year I say I'm going to go. Had a look this year and it's £300 for general admission. Then I remembered why I never actually go.
That is for 3 days. For Sunday only it's still £239 though without a seat, and the only grandstands left are at Chapel, and they're £425.
F1 tickets are just insane these days. It's amazes me how the USGP is a sell out given that a single Sunday ticket it's going to cost you the best part of $400 without parking, where as you could do a couple of tickets for the Indy GP of Alabama at Barber for under $100 with parking included. Hell...you can do the Indy 500 for under a ton.
The trouble is, they will sell them all anyway, so there's not a lot of incentive to make them more affordable.
Very true. I was tempted to do Austin last season, but by the time I'd factored in petrol, accommodation, parking and tickets for two, you're looking at kissing goodbye to a grand or more. Just couldn't justify it to myself. That and it would have been a Covid soup down here.
And don’t get me started on supporter accessibility to the stars ( was at the Indy time trials the day after Scott brayton sadly died ) .
You can certainly get pit passes as cheap as chips for Indy. Hell, back in the BTCC glory days, it used to cost a fiver to get a paddock pass. Got to meet so many of those guys it was unbelievable. I dread to think what that would cost your average Joe in F1 now.
