I didn't mean to insinuate that you did underestimate covid, sorry if that's how my post came across. My girlfriend has a condition that makes her very vulnerable to covid and also makes the vaccines not very effective so I'm probably a bit over sensitive
Thanks, she is winning. I won't go into all the detail but one side effect is the lymph nodes, in the neck. They became so large the doctors began to think she had cancer, but fortunately not. She lost her job because of it, but she contracted covid at work, she was a care home worker. She has retrained as a phlebotomist and started work again last month. Still has enlarged lymph nodes but winning through determination.
Launches January 31 Haas (livery launch) Done February 3 Red Bull New York Done February 6 Williams (livery launch) Done February 7 Alfa Romeo Zurich Done February 11 AlphaTauri New York NEXT February 13 Aston Martin Silverstone February 13 McLaren Woking February 14 Ferrari Maranello February 15 Mercedes Silverstone February 16 Alpine London Test: Bahrain, on February 23-25. Race 1: Bahrain March 3-5. Its surely hardly worth any teams time to mess round like last year, surely day 1 of test we will see the "final" race 1 cars??

Race 1: Bahrain March 3-5. Its now over to Mercedes and the we will be headed hard into the test. obviously Renault will be interesting as well but they will not be the 3rd leg of the big title battle we now have a red bull looking evolution nor revolution yet and the ferrari looking like it's sticking and evolving on its own path. will the merc stick with the micro pods or will they go for one of the other two designs.
the-race.com ranked the f1 launches fom worst to best 10. red bull - boring, not real car, irrlevant interviews, nothing to do with F1 and geenral weak 9.Alphatauri - promsed a lot but then ended up a fashion week party apparently 8. Haas - didn't actually do a launch but still was better than red bull did exactly what it said it would do, show off livery online. 7.williams - not the 2023 car with underwhelming livery 6. Alpha - decent but lacking the glitz apparently. whatever that means. 5.mclaren - downrated due to prior years being metter apparently. they limited access to the car and Key was not there to talk. 4. alpine - the one i didn't bother seeing. apparently full on but rather long winded. apparently also a bit of a party with a car launch attached (i wish) 3. Merc: sleek and no bluster apparently. 2. Aston - apparently a good launch show and the real car (though i thought this one was worse as it was the lick lances ass show) interviews with everton etc 1. ferrari - seems the full on 5 star treatment for press works, seems the press got the full one welcome to fiorana treatment and got a shock to walk into a test not a launch. they lapped it up compared to going to a glitzy party and having a sheet pulled off a car after half an hour of waffle. Team boss and drivers all gave access to the hacks. Ferrari steals the show by going and doing something unique. It does rather sound like a lot of money wasted to me by most teams to get thier sponsors logos on a screen. it probabaly cost ferrari the least of all (though i bet all the journos got gifts on thier hotel pillows to speak nicely) and they got the best return form their sessions. red bull might not as well have bothered.
Ferrari were superb- a proper F1 fan-friendly launch and I think all teams should do one at a track. Aston were very good too. Merc not bad and McLaren too though as pointed out, they really did downplay things.
Spanish GP will use a slightly different layout this year, they're getting rid of the final chicane for 2 high speed right handers.. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/64787396
That`s a great piece of news.I have always hated that Micky Mouse chicane in the final part of the lap and it`ll create some overtaking moves again going onto the pit straight. It should make for more of exciting race with the teams not testing there as well this year.
to slow cars down. they got obsessed with slowing cars down and put grooves in tyres and all sorts of nonsense rather than focusing on racing. the current cars are too wide, too long and too heavy.
Williams . Underwhelming . that’s one way of putting it The Gulf symbol is hardly there at all . does anyone know if that is 100% def the colour scheme for the start of the season ?
