I genuinely never realised he was the son of Oswald Moseley- which made me feel rather silly when I read the news yesterday. What was it that really lit the touch paper between Max and Ron Dennis? It must have been some serious dislike from what I read?
I might be wrong but the impression I get was that Ron was seen as a bit of an upstart by the public school boys who ran F1 as he was a grammar school boy. Ron had a chip on his shoulder about it, and Max was Max. Having said that it didn't seem to affect Bernie in the same way.
Makes the whole alleged Nazi themed sadomasochistic sex with three prostitutes-gate make a lot more sense, hey?
I know Max hated Ron . That’s why when mclaren got the 100 million fine , max said to Ron that’s 10 million for breaking the rules , and 90 million for being a C**T
This is a good summary of the situation, even though it was written by Benson. I know. "Among those to suffer most from Mosley's darker attributes was the former McLaren boss Ron Dennis. There was an icy disdain between the two men - Mosley delighting in trying to humiliate a personality he saw as uneducated, unsophisticated and gauche; Dennis in return finding Mosley a particularly unpleasant kind of condescending aristocrat. Their mutual antipathy was at the heart of two of the biggest political controversies in F1 over the last 30 years. Dennis, along with fellow team owners Frank Williams and Ken Tyrrell, did everything he could to fight what he saw as the theft involved in transferring the sport's commercial rights from the teams to Ecclestone's own companies in 1995, and the legal battle dragged on for three years before it was settled. Mosley bore a grudge about that for a decade, and paid Dennis back in the 'spy-gate' scandal of 2007, when McLaren's chief designer was found in possession of nearly 800 pages of confidential Ferrari technical information. It took two hearings before Mosley was able to get the sport's governing body that he ran to find McLaren guilty, and when he did he imposed an unprecedented $100m fine on the team, hoping it would bring Dennis down. Infamously, Mosley was heard to say on a number of occasions: "Five million for the offence; 95 for Ron being a ****." Although in his autobiography, he ascribed the jibe to Ecclestone"
And poor Nigel Stepney took his own life in the end . I know he should not have done what he did , still a high price to pay .
Flexigate has progressed. Dr Bellend has called into question Mercedes front wing flexing. Are there diversion tactics going on both sides?
Some dark side whataboutism...Not a dissimilar tactic than we see used every day. But.... Let's leave them both where they are since it's interesting.
When Ted Kravitz said to Toto that if merc protested rbr rear wing , and that rbr would protest merc front wing , Toto said that they would then protest rbr front wing
If that happens I predict Williams being classified 1 & 2 and Haas 3 & 4 after the rest of the field with their flexi wings get disqualified
To be honest they should just replace the Monaco GP with all the teams just scrutineering each others cars in Monaco and then protesting. It would be a lot more interesting and in reality would have the same number of overtakes as a normal Monaco weekend.
Wouldn’t mind Mugello again to be fair- what a beast of a track. Austin is great, but would love to see another new venue. There’s got to be a belting Indy track to use? Could we put Adelaide back together?!
Road America or Watkins Glen They're all grade 2 circuits though, which means they haven't paid enough to be considered grade 1, like the currently non-existent Hard-rock circuit in Miami has.
