Well, there is a hint that Kimi may not be safe in which case might Hulk be off to Ferrari yet? I will confess I would like to see Jenson in a competitive car and go up against Alonso, he did well against Lewis although I accept it wasn't Lewis's best couple of years. It could still be good for Honda to have Jenson in their car for just one year.

This is officially the silliest season that ever danced in the pale light of the full unicorn.

With Ferrari making sweeping changes and a new culture, there is every chance Kimi will be replaced. His attitude is not what they need right now.

Button is a perfect foil for any big name team mate because he will rarely out qualify them but will race well every Sunday and get good points. Ferrari would have done worse things than give Jenson a one/two year deal to build a good car with Seb and then depart leaving Vettel in good shape to challenge for title no.5. Equally, I think he could do the same with Alonso at McLaren but i think the feeling of being usurped as the no.1 driver may be a difficult thing to take at his age.

I'd love to see him race at Ferrari!

Hulk deserves a shot but I cant see an all German Ferrari lineup. Has it been 100% confirmed by Seb that Ferrari is his destination?

Mind u, filling in 3 weeks between races is bound to generate gossip...it is probably regurgitated speculation to keep the website visits up.

Press conference to confirm it before the next race apparently, but yeah it's all agreed.

Is this in the same way that Mclaren were going to have a press conference before Suzuka? <laugh>

Probably irrelevant since the seat's most likely to go to Sainz Jr or Gasly but thought I'd mention it.

I think it was the case that it was a multi year deal but they would let him leave if a big team came calling. My interpretation is that they're only now sure Ferrari won't take him.

The two questions this raises for me are.
    1) Does the fact the announcement has taken this long mean Ferrari are considering replacing Kimi?
    2) Why didn't FI confirm Perez?

Just a bit of fun because I can't see it myself - the below was taken from an article I read online.

For those out of the loop, about a month ago, Bernie Eccleston talked about the posibility of 8 teams with three cars/drivers if 3 teams were unable to put forth a car for the following year.
Now, whether you believe this to be a good thing is neither here, nor there, but if in (say) 2016, only 8 teams could be put forth, which teams would they be, and who would you want to drive for them? They don't have to be in the current field, but have to be driving in either F1, GP2, F3 or similar. E.G, Mark Webber could be in a team. This is a fantasy draft, not the official pre-schedule plan.
    This would be my line-up:

Ferrari - Kimi Räikkönen, Sebastian Vettel, Jules Bianchi
McLaren - Jenson Button, Fernando Alonso, Kevin Magnussen
Mercedes - Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, Nico Hulkenberg (mainly just to screw with the names)
Red Bull - Daniel Riccardo, Daniil Kvyatt, Jean-Eric Vergne
Toro Rosso - Sebastian Buemi, Max Chilton, Jaime Alguersuari
Williams - Valtteri Bottas, Feliepe Massa, Mark Webber
Haas F1 - Alexander Rossi, Charles Pic, Will Stevens
Forza Rossa - Romain Grosjean, Sergio Perez, Adrian Sutil

@pitlanetalk: According to our sources, Sergio Perez is evaluating a 2015 Lotus deal to replace Grosjean. The Frenchman wants to leave the team. #F1

Where would Romain go? Under Boullier's wing again maybe?

Partnering Alonso, he seems a submissive wing man, well he was for Kimi anyway.

I think Grosjean is just so fed up with Lotus this year that he'd take a seat anywhere, even if it meant doing WEC for a while. He seems to alternate being angry and disconsolate on the radio.

It has provided quite a bit of entertainment though, the man seems to suffer from very extreme emotions every week, he has almost turned into his own soap opera "The ever changing moods of RoGro".

he starts off a race weekend very happy (Probably hoping he'll finally have a good weekend again)

, then the same issues happen and out of frustration he explodes into extreme anger down the radio (probably again due to the fact he's doing nothing wrong and he has been saddled with a car that doesn't work),

then when he calms down realises it;s all pointless and he hates life and would rather be anywhere else.

Rinse and repeat over the whole season.
