The new boss looks to be Marco Mattiacci who is/was the North America CEO for Ferrari... a man with a wealth of F1 experience <OhNoIDidnt!>
Ferrari must be taking on a Mercedes/RBR style of management now with Marco being the T.Wolff/H.Marko of the team who will focus on the media or signing angle, rather than the Lowe/Newey+Horner who will focus more on the technical/car side. So I expect somebody else will be coming in Ferrari as well to be the Lowe/Newey+Horner of their team.
Maranello, April 14, 2014 - The Ferrari announces that it has appointed Marco Mattiacci, president and CEO of Ferrari North America, the new Head of Sports Management with effect from today. Doesn't sound like the "Team Principal of Ferrari" to me in which Stefano was. It's almost as if somebody else will be coming to split the roll with Marco...
I like that they've kept the fantastic Italian names. Marco Mattiacci is a great name! Are there any other contenders for the Lowe role? Apart from Brawn? I suppose Allison is a possibility

Brawn is the obvious choice... Wether they'll do it or not is another thing. I wonder why Luca didn't have to fall on his sword too?
Now that Ferrari is in big ****, surely this is the call for Vettel to join Ferrari by replacing Alonso and repeating what Schumacher did? The Alonso/Stefano/Santander era didn't work, time for Vettel to face his destiny and make Rory Byrne look good again like he did for Newey over the last 6 years.
The biggest problem with Stefano was he appeared to me to be a very weak leader with not a lot of influence. Sure he was a nice guy but looked like he could be pushed about by others (just like whitmarsh) Ferrari need to be led by a strong figure who can influence and motivate. The biggest problem for Ferrari overall was after 2007 when they decided to go 'All Italian'. They got too cocky and thought they could make good team members from within but the better talent can be found all over the world.
If RBR are in a bit of a downturn, then the timing of the switch to Ferrari would be about perfect. He could make the leap without having to give up the best car.
Vettel will only stay with Red Bull if he knows the engine wont be a dead end for the rest of his career there or they're going to change engines. If not he might as well jump to Ferrari as they will make a bigger improvement for next year as they have more resources than Renault.
