In order to get used to the new engines, it looks like we may have an extra pre-season test next year.
I'd be surprised if he made a decision so quickly, but then Porsche didn't deny their interest in Webber...
Wouldn't be surprising, he's an experienced sportscar driver, and probably pissed off with Red Bull treating him like a bitch.
Hmm, I believe it originates from this article, which when you trace it back was published on April 1st. Sorry guys.
Well I got it from this (courtesy of silverarrow): http://www.microsofttranslator.com/bv.aspx?from=&to=en&a=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.blogf1.it%2F2013%2F04%2F18%2Fminardi-toyota-torna-in-f1-con-lexus-dal-2014%2F
Hmm, that article also only talks of being an engine supplier, potentially to Williams. I can't see a new team from them on the grid.
Ricciardo definitely ahead of Vergne for the battle for Webber's seat next year. Add to that the nice little chat he and Marko seemed to be having on the grid in China... http://www.worldcarfans.com/113043057128/ricciardo-moves-into-pole-for-webbers-seat
He's been more impressive than Vergne, but Kimi is better I reckon. da Costa to take the spare Toro Rossi seat?
Yeah, but I could never see Kimi at Red Bull, purely because of all the PR commitments. Lotus bent over backwards to accomodate him and he seems to like it there, has a capable car and clear no. 1 status. I imagine Da Costa would take the second STR seat if Dan goes.
Why do people keep saying this? What PR commitments do Vettel and Webber actually have? The only thing I can remember seeing them do for the team was a photoshoot for Casio watches and Vettel's done some stuff with Infiniti, which I think was as much off his own back as they've named a car after him. Webber did a Canberra Milk commercial and Vettel Head and Shoulders but these were both their own deals. At the end of the day Red Bull are their own title sponsor and they get their drivers to do next to no publicity for the Red Bull brand beyond driving their cars, doing some interviews and wearing some branded hats and ****, which every driver has to do any way. The only team with real heavy corporate responsibilities (or "bullshit" as Kimi calls it) is McLaren. And Kimi's not completely averse to ladening himself with sponsorship, he did that Makia clothing stuff pre season which had nothing to do with Lotus as far as I know.
Proof Kimi is on his way to RB, every little helps... View attachment 23418 I don't think I have seen Vettel and Raikkonen properly race each other on track. It would be epic.
