He's already been confirmed to be driving for them next year. The main concern is that Sauber don't have a simulator.

I was hoping that meant a Friday driver, he's still 17 and making a bit of a pigs ear of FR3.5 this season.

I suspect that Slim's money will go to Mclaren and he'll jump into Gutierrez's seat. All we can hope is that if he genuinely can't cope then his superlicence will be revoked.

The major players in F1 will influence how long he stays in this series. If he takes a top flight leader during a race when being lapped or during a Safety car, his career is dead meat!

So Red Bull are saying the announcement will come after the European season. So why after Monza? Is it possible it is Alonso who has asked maybe to announce it after Italy out of respect for the Ferrari fans? If it is Ricciardo then why not announce it now? whats holding it back?

Also on another thought. Has ricciardo signed but will take a year out to be reserve and get ready to replace Vettel after 2014?

    Could be:
    Alonso >> Red Bull
Ricciardo >> Red Bull (as reserve)
    Raikkonen >> Ferrari
    Hulkenberg >> Lotus
    Vettel >> Ferrari (in 2015)

Interesting what Eddie Jordan was saying a few minutes ago. He's very confident that Ricciardo is a done deal for Red Bull, but not completely sure about Ferrari. He suspects Massa will go, with Raikkonen replacing him.

Doesn't make sense to replace him now, his replacement would be slower, due to unfamiliarity with the car.

Maybe they're eyeing up buying HUlkenburg out of Sauber? Chance for Ferrari to evaluate the HUlk and Sauber need the cash.

Has the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez not sunk yet?

I'd be glad to see it back though... would be great to see F1 cars blast around the Peraltada again! :)

    http://www.f1zone.net/news/new-engine-deal-for-sauber-close-says-domenicali/20166/

On that bolded part, it's rumorued that Kaltenborn is trying to negotiate a deal with Ferrari that would see Sirotkin doing laps in the Ferrari simulator - Sauber want this because Sirotkin can't drive in practice as he doesn't have a superlicence.

According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Van Der Garde's management are in talks with Sauber, Williams and Force India.

    They also talk about Frijns:
