Technically, most Ferrari engines were FIAT's as they are the parent company, but that's just me being a smart-arse
To expand, there's a tax issue with the teams that prevents them from going next year. The organisers hope they will take a year off, with it returning in 2015 switched to the start of the season (meaning the opening leg would go Australia-Malaysia-China-India, if I've got my facts straight).
Bernie always wanted it at the start of the season it was the Jaypee group that insisted on an October date, Bernie's basically used the tax situation to move the GP to a time that he prefers. It does make sense though as the second half of the season is incredibly busy compared with the first half so hopefully with no India next year and there being Austria instead there will be more of a flow to the season and less of these massive gaps followed by back to back races.
Raikkonen offered Ferrari seat? http://www.inautonews.com/ferrari-offers-raikkonen-seat-for-2014-report Im going to start the rumour Alonso will return to Enstone!
Since Kimi said his coice of team for next year might seem strange, I've been thinking it has to be Ferrari. I can't see Alonso at lotus though, as I doubt they can afford him. Maybe Kimi is taking Massa's seat? Ferrari would be mad to have Kimi as their sole #1 given his previous exit. If Alonso leaves Ferrari, it could mark the death of his career unfortunately. I can't see a move to a another big team if he then went on to Lotus and was unable to secure a title there. Edit: If that offer from RBR is genuine... Kimi would be mental to turn it down.
http://www.gpupdate.net/en/f1-news/298510/tost-ricciardo-not-ready-for-red-bull/ Ricciardo's current boss doesn't think he is ready.
That might be complete bullshit, but assuming it's true, why would Alonso encourage a move for Lotus's best designer if there was even the smallest inkling that he might be joining them.
When was this approval though? When Ferrari were doing well in Barcelona? The Saga has run on for a bit. Edit: By the way I completely made the Alonso-Lotus story up just out of fantasy. There is nothing behind it really.
not that you gave it away in the first post. but Raikonnen to Ferrari seems a bit unlikely to me, 1 he's been there, done that and got sacked, 2, 2 top drivers at Ferrari? no. I've heard a rumour that Kamui Kobayashi will be partnering Alonso at Ferrari next season [nsfw](ok it was just a voice in my head called wishful thinking)[/nsfw]
If I was to spark a Minardi Reunion then It would be with Ukyo Katayama and Luca Badoer. Nobody else compares.
