F1 2011 Game Review

Tut tut, very slack on codemaster's* part. Seems the bugs are as prevalent as ever. There would be no such slack programming and coding from Turn 10

So this could not be more true then.

 

I might give it a go, just for the canadian gp i'm still struggling with. Really should have started with FI.

 

Also, i have the ps3 version of the game, and the frame rate is abysmal, i've seen graphics from the 360, and they look good. I'm not spending £200 on a new console just for one game. Hopefully in a patch, codemasters will re-code the game slightly, sorting out the frame rate issue. Don't buy the PS3 version until it's been sorted.

 

Buy it for Forza as well

 

find a broken one on the net that has 'the red ring of death', stick a couple of ear buds in the fans, leave it on for a few minutes, reset it, free Xbox360. I wouldn't believe it myself if I didn't see that very thing happen at my mates earlier this evening. Now he's busy hacking it.

 

Hacking in what way?

 

PS3 graphics are abysmal but it is still very enjoyable.

 

It must be my game which is the only good ps3 game then. Everyone is saying the graphics are worse but I find it to be way better than 2010. Same everything, and my framerate is perfect too.

It can easily fixed with a patch but I get what your saying.

 

It is hard but what are your aero settings? I normally go for 7 front and 4 rear. I quite like a pointy front end that's why.

Wing angle. Its a game.

 

Usually the higher the number, the more downforce you have but less straight line speed.

 

Whatever you do, do not run minimal downforce on an HRT. The car won't stay in a straight line.

 

I gather that but my god its a game for the supposed pinnacle of motorsport, there are some serious gamers out there who relish the set up challenge.

I like getting the calculator out and judging optimal set ups according to each car adjusting actual wing angles, spring and damper settings, camber, differential settings, gear ratios etc.

 

Are you an ad-man for Forza? You seem to slate every other racing game, so you must work for microsoft, in the promotion department.

 

No I can just remember how excited I was for the first F1 game. It was what I had been waiting for since getting the xbox and the bitter disappointment that followed after forking out 40 quid for it when the half assed standard of it became apparent and it seems that overwhelmingly F12011 is just more of the same with little improvement.
