Swing and a miss there mate. I don't think you can set the limits of investigation of such an organisation by the initialisation they choose (F.A.R.E)

Their remit will no undoubtedly go beyond just investigating racism. Plus the fact that the term "racism" itself is an ever changing word based on the current mores of society will also be a contributing factor.

    Here endeth the lesson. <ok>

This thread gave me belly laughs galore. Well done boys and bhoys. <ok>

    I'll throw in a tuppence...

RebelBhoy, your contention is that FTP is sectarian and that FTQ is not? What then? Political?

Come off it. The morons who sing these chants don't have the brain cells to know the difference. They are sung for one reason only, to get it right up the opposing fans by attacking the perceived heads of the opposing religion. In other words - sectarianism by intent.

Yet you, on behalf of the morons and bigots that sing it, decide it's not sectarian to sing FTQ. Who the **** appointed you the Timmy Grandee?

I welcome your tuppence but unfortunately you are very wrong.

The Celtic support has a large Republican presence which objects to the queen ruling over a part of the island of Ireland. she has rewarded those who have undertaken heinous acts on her behalf in the north of Ireland. To suggest that our dislike of her and her institution has any sectarian undertones, overtones or anything at all of that nature is quite frankly ludicrous.

Are you the voice of all Celtic fans?

As Gambol pointed out, the majority of twats that chant FTP or FTQ are clueless about religion or politics and only know what they have been "fed" by others!

The majority of these ****s will chant it as a way to get a reaction...

No, I am not the voice of all Celtic fans, but seeing as we don't have a major sectarian problem, it is a logical conclusion to draw.

and if the majority of fans are twats that chant FTQ that are clueless about religion and politics and only know what they have been fed by others, then what i have posted is what they have been fed.

So further evidence that this is not sectarian.

    Correct?

Large Republican prescence, you say. Almost all of whom live in and around Glesga and, again, are too young/****in thick to know anything about the troubles. Trot out the politics if you like, but it seems a shame to use it as an excuse for the behaviour for some of the Celtic support.

The Queen - Head of the Church of England
Celtic - Sing songs of hate towards the Queen

you think it's ok to sing songs of hate towards the head of a church for political reasons? fair enough
why cant rangers fans sing songs of hatred towards the pope for his crimes against humanity?

Who said anything about the 'troubles'?
The Republican ideal didn't end with the Good friday agreement.

For clarity, I am not using it as an excuse for the behaviour of the Celtic support. It is an absolutely legitimate stance to take.

    The lesson was badly-judged.

So if they're not going to stick to racism as their initialisation implies what else are they going to investigate? Sexism? Homophobia? Official abuse (after all they are a minority too). And they're enough politically-correct regulators without having one that goes the "extra mile".

As for racism being an ever-changing word, I didn't know it was. To me it simply means prejudicial thinking or behaviour dictated by race. And there is no such race as Catholic or Irish. Anybody who tries to use racism to make a less serious complaint somehow more credible is being disingenuous.
