No, I did. I couldn't really see the point of yet another cup thread that simply says 'content to follow' ...and then there isn't any!
I am more than happy to step aside from the gruelling responsibility of writing the match day threads but in recent years we end up with the writers jacking it in when the team are not doing so well and no threads are put up at all for a few games and more posters leave the site.
You, my man, are going nowhere, so just be content to follow each match thread with another for the next one
I do not think Southampton have the same strength in depth as Tottenham. I’d go so far as to say our strength in depth is better than Southampton’s (and I think most of the PL bottom half actually) but Southampton’s first team are better. While we might play better against the top clubs, our record doesn’t actually show we win more often... Don’t get me wrong, I hear what you’re saying and get the counter intuition, but it stands to reason that our best odds really are against Southampton.
Southampton are dangerous at set pieces; Ward Prowse to the in form Ings -- Goal! They beat us at St Mary's with two set piece goals ...........
Please don't step aside, Duncan. Your talent for brevity - your ability to say so much in so few words - is often commented on here, but no one ever mentions your remarkable consistency. Week after week, game after game, your standard never slips. Keep up the good work!
His consistency reminds me of Adam Drury, just so reliable, people might come in to try and replace him, but no, he finds away to be Mr Consistent
