Yep, although I do think they'll turn good- sustained investment on that level eventually pays off and it seems the owners are committed to their cause. It's the clubs who suddenly get a rich owner who expect to start winning straight away because they've spaffed millions that are fools. And it's the ones who spend millions and then try and rein in spending that really suffer. Leicester, to be fair, are building a decent team and have a manager that finally knows what he's doing and will probably be there for a bit of time. It'll take a clean slate over the summer to sort it out and I expect Leicester to be pushing for promotion next year.

Lcfc owners are definitely committed to the club, they've spent millions on the stadium (newly refurbished changing rooms, fan store, tv screens), the training facilities, trips for fans to thailand nd of course new players (some have been awful bt mst hav been good signings). Some fans think that if city don't go up that they will go, i dnt think they will nd pearson is starting to get the players to play as a team just got to sort out the inconsistency problem which he will

Good post sir, nice to know that you have some good, honest, sensible fans!

Maybe I'm being a bit harsh, I know we all like to think the best of the club we support, but a bit of common sense has to be called for at some point! <ok>

From what i've seen of you this season you have some good players but Gallacher doesn't seem to cut it on a consistent basis and Wellens doesn't seem to have it any more.

Do you have any fringe players that could come in and do a better job?

also proud_fox, you're a moderator?? You're behaviour is more like that of a 14 yr old child. Have some dignity, please.

Seriously, you're a moderator? Would not have guessed that.

Heres an example. If we kept Surman but dropped the rest of the midfield from the Swansea game we could still field a diamond of Johnson, Crofts, Surman and Hoolahan

THATS how strong our squad is.

Disagreeing with Proud does not make him a '14 yr old child'.

If you disagree with him then do the mature thing, that an adult would do, and ignore him <ok>

To be fair AKCJ, he made himself very difficult to ignore, by repeatedly saying the same sort of thing over and over!

I feel sorry for you, because he has spoiled what was potentially a very good thread!

he makes a derogatory and unsubstantiated comment about our players, i respond by giving a purely factual breakdown of the relative merits of our teams and their players, and why his comment has lead to so much disagreement from Norwich fans. I then suggest we should agree to disagree and move on for the sake of your thread. A couple of posts later though he ignores any of that reasoned response, and continues to seemingly intentionally wind up all and sundry.

That's why i am so surprised to realise he's one of the people you have in charge of maintaining a higher level of debate!

And ignoring people you disagree with is hardly an adult thing to do. Surely expressing your counterpoint to them in a logical reasoned and non aggressive manner is appropriate?

I'm sorry your thread has ended up being taken over by this debate, for what its worth Lawrenson has us downfor a 2-0 win, which means you'll probably walk it now!

Just been looking back at last seasons games and of the 18 players we used only Korey and Stephen Smith haven't played for us in the Prem, Korey through injury and Stephen as he doesn't play for us any more and only Wilbraham, Lappin and Ward haven't featured on a regular basis.

That, in my opinion, shows why we are probably the better side as we haven't had any major disruptions to the team dynamic and all the players have a good understanding with each other.

Hopefully we get another cracker like these two were:

We have some very good players. We havent consistently performed as a team. Norwich were the best team to come to the Walkers last season. You played as a team with no-body outstanding, but everone doing their job. Nigel is trying to get us to that same ethos. As things stand, I expect a home win on Saturday, but if we click we can win it. We can turn it on - just so inconsistent.

Me and a couple of lads at work are convinced that Leicester will take an early lead, lead at half time and we'll come back to win it. Odds of 22/1 on that make it quite tempting

Whilst I'd love to come down on the Leicester side of the argument I have to say that Norwich are 8th in the PL for a reason just as we are 12th in the Championship for a reason. I remember when O'Neill was here people used to say that we were good because we played as a team. That was partly true, but we also had some pretty good players. Izzet and Lennon would have got into any team outside the big 4 and a few others would have been pretty close. Norwich would not have got to where they are now without having some very good individual players.

Now I come to Leicester. Sure we have some individuals who will one day grace the PL. I would put Schmeichel and Bamba as future PL players and Nugent, Beckford and Konchesky as players who have (and probably still could) play in the PL. However, I'm getting fed up with people saying we have the players and it's just a matter of getting them playing as that isn't the case. Our midfield is way off being PL quality: Wellens has lost pace and stamina, King has had a very poor season, Danns is industrious but lacks quality, Gallagher has one good game and three bad games and Dyer is nowhere near PL quality. Added to this it looks like Drinkwater is now injured and he did look capable of changing things.

Pearson has a challenge to build a squad, particularly a new midfield (which he's started to address) and then get us playing as a team. I've seen signs of improvement already and I'm sure we're going in the right direction, but we are currently nowhere near comparing ourselves to a top 10 PL team individually or collectively. Sorry!

I remember on the old BBC606 board a Norwich fan writing when they got relegated to league 1 that they should model themselves on Leicester. We'd made an instant return from the abyss, finished in the play-offs but then, unlike Norwich, got rid of our manager. Times have changed and we could now do a lot worse than modelling ourselves on the boys from Carrow Road.

Excellent post with some interesting points. I do think Norwich's team spirit does have a lot to do with it and gets the best out of players, so to an extent we're punching above our weight. Helped by Lambert's tactical decisions winning matches (moving Elliott Bennett into the centre against Swansea being just the most recent example). However, as you say, there's only so far you can get with hard work and sweat- a few of our players I think are very good, but I suspect that part of the reason we're looking ship shape compared to Blackpool is that we don't have one very good player who is so good he's getting tapped up by other clubs.

If you're interested in some decent midfielders I heard Feeds United have a couple and they're always looking to sell
